Take a look:

http://www.naxosdirect.ca/label/NSP/?sort=price&sort_order=

There's a lot of stuff to be had for $0.00. Last time I spotted something available for free, I ordered it alongside something else, and they shipped the "something else" but not the free product.  :(

Brian

Oh snap! Free items can only be shipped to Canada or Ireland.  :(

When Naxos goes gimmicky . . . it's just plain wrong.

Got a Canadian friend to order 3 things I want, and another 2 things I don't want for free shipping - total, $0. Low chance of it working, but worth a shot.

A fun update! Someone who works for Naxos accidentely sent an email to the person who ordered for me as well as their superior, the result is being able to read this:

There was an error on the NaxosDirect.ca site that had items listed at $0.00. He ordered 8 CD box sets over $800 in value for nothing.

Here is the order number: NAX23460
Tell him he can have one of each at our expense since it was a computer error on our end, but that if he wants 2 of each he'll have to pay for the 2nd copy.

Obviously, say it in a much more polite way that we appreciate his patronage, but would rather not be taken advantage of at our expense.

Janet,

Are you able to pull his information because the order is not in V2 yet?  I checked yesterday and this morning.

Thank you!

QuoteDear Mr. Tipper,

The item you ordered was priced incorrectly due to a computer mistake.  We will honor one box set at no-charge with the purchase of one, however any additional items ordered will be charged.  We will place your order on hold until we hear from you due to the circumstances.  Please let us know if you would like to continue with the purchase.  We do apologize for the mistake and appreciate your business.  We hope to hear from you soon.

Thank you!

Have A Great Day!

As much as I wouldn't have minded some free stuff, this was a fun outcome as well.

I can imagine the guy locked up in a basement, eyeballs exploding out of his head, laughing deliriously and clicking all the the free stuff.
"It's all free!!!! Mwahahahah!!!"

Seems to me that have had a pragmatic and appropriate approach to their mistake.

DavidW: Yeah Mike doesn't get angry, he gets even.
I wasted time: and time wasted me.

An update: they actually sent the boxes anyway, despite my friend not imputting any payment details, so they have no way to charge him.

He ordered 8 of the sets (3 for me), so that is quite some saving.

Update2: finally arrived, yay. Kudos to Naxos for being kind enough to go through with it after they realised their mistake.

Lethe,
Any word on what exactly's on that American Symphonies set???  I'd definitely consider it!

It's annoying how obscure these sets are, I couldn't find any tracklist online (and the box itself was scarce enough), so I scanned the rear. It's a giant file (I didn't want to scale it down too much in case the small writing became hard to read) so I won't embed it: click.

Great!  Many thanks.  :)
