Four picks of today, but this can easily change. He is my favourite composer for piano together with Chopin.

Kinderszenen
Carnival
Kreisleriana
Davidsbundlertanze

A tough one indeed!  Only four!  (Why no Gesange der Fruhe, I wonder?)

Certainly Carnaval and Davidsbundlertanze are my two favroites, but specific performances dictate the rest.  A great Fantasie is impossible to resist.  Anyway, mine are (today)

Carnaval
Davidsbundlertanze
Arabeske
Symphonic Etudes

I went with entries on ArkivMusic greater than 10; Gesange was at 7.  It's arbitrary, but I didn't want to list every single work.

I am not too familiar with Schumann's piano works but I remember liking Kinderszenen a lot when I have heard it on radio.  :)
Spatial distortion is a serious problem deteriorating headphone listening.
Crossfeeders reduce spatial distortion and make the sound more natural
and less tiresome in headphone listening.

Actually David... is probably my favorite along with the Fantasie.

Who do you have in Kinderszenen? I have Horowitz and Kempff only, I think. Horowitz is excellent in this one.

This at the moment...

Yep, this was tough as I have virtually all the works listed except 4. In the end I went for:

Kinderszenen
Fantasy Op 17 in C
Fantasiestucke Op 12
Etudes Symphoniques

I'd also have added Carnaval and Papillons next.
Cheers

I'm not a great fan of short piano pieces.

But Schumann is the exception.

My favourite is probably the first Romance op.28.

I have Horowitz, Brand, Moravec, Engerer and Annie Fischer (BBC).  8)

I agree that Horowitz is great.

Variations on a Spiritual theme (I seem to remember it was called that) op. posth. Composed in the last months of his life, it came to him in a dream. So beautiful.
