That hue of blue is purrrrrfect. Underlined would be ok, but bolded would make it look like some sort of ad. Let's keep it visible but simple, I say !

Wouldn't dream of belittling it. Just making fun of it.

That's OK then.

I like the bright blue links, a nice color to change from.

Rob! I insist that it should look like this, with all colors in the proper order:

hyperlink

Until this is resolved, I will constantly inquire as to when the change will be made.

 :)

Oh no, that would be too confusing!

OK

Well, here's the thing...

Everyone wanted the hyperlinks to be more obvious in posts. Make it a different colour, they said. Make it underlined, they asked.

So I did. I changed the CSS (cascading style sheet, for those who care) so that hyperlinks are now more bluer and more underlineder.

And NOW I realised why I shouldn't have - there is an over-riding theme that the designers of the forum used - hyperlinks were a muted blue, with no underlining unless hovered over for a good reason. Because almost everything on the forum is a hyperlink! All threads, posts, headings, buttons, even the forum name banner - they are all hyperlinks. And trying to change the style sheet has resulted in a rather un-pretty forum, because all the links are blue-blue and obviously underlined.

I'm going to leave it like this for a few days, so that everyone will realise the folly of their requests. Tinkering with a non-broken thing makes it broken.

OK, OK, I'll restore normality in a little while. A compromise. Maybe, we could agree to make hyperlinks just a little more blue than before, but remove the underline until hovered over.

You always have the option of making your own hyperlinks more obvious by manually blueing them (or oranging them or redding them or whatever) and underscoring yourself.

cheers
Rob

Well, I don't care about all that. I like it this way. The whole thing is peppier and brighter looking. I agree, you could lose the underscore, but the color is just fine, IMO. :)

That would be my vote. On the old forum we never had the hyperlinks underlined, just in bold blue. And we never had a problem seeing them.

Thanks for explaining all this, Rob!  :)

+1 I like it this way, and it's not distracting IMO.

I would keep the colour or do the old colour in bold - as George pointed out, that worked fine on the old forum. But definitely loose the underlining IMO - they make especially the topic overviews hugely overdone.  :)

No, change it back, all these underlinings are ugly.

I'll continue to do links my own way, boldly and maroonly.

Agree with all the others, that the underlining is a bit of overkill, but the color(s) is/are fine, FWIW.

I could do without the underlining, but perhaps the new colour could indeed be gotten used to. :)

As long as there is a change towards making links visible, I'm game - whichever method you choose. :-* As a matter of fact: as far as I'm concerned, you can even leave the underscores, I've already got used to them. Though that probably wouldn't be a good idea, since so many people hate them so much. ;D
