Oh, as do I, and with similar beer and wine drinking seasons.

To your health, then! Kippis!

Let me say firstly, that I’m absolutely THRILLED that Elgarian has returned! I will also say that I’m proud that this forum is running smoothly again and I’ve had zero problems accessing the site over the past few days (even though I made no posts). I guess the bad news for you guys is I’m back in full swing with classical music and you’re going to have to continue to put up with my irrational, idiotic hijinks! :P

I was already closing that door on this forum until I read this wonderful message from Rob and I felt quite relieved because I really have enjoyed my time here and I’ve learned so much from all of you. Thanks for everything, Rob!

I'm glad the forum is back to its original form, and everybody is happy.

Is there anybody still having trouble connecting or registering?

"See unread posts" timed out on me once today. But that is it.
BTW, what whiskey do you like?

Talisker - for the smokey, peaty flavour, but not too overpowering
Recent trip to Japan - Suntory: smooth, vanilla
New discovery and current favourite: Thomson 21 year old single malt, from New Zealand - smooth and nicely balanced sweet/peat
 Macs are better. They just are.

If that were true, the Czechs, the Germans and the Dutch would have disappeared without any trace long ago.  ;D

You forgot to mention the Belgians who produce the finest beers of 'em all  ;D

But nothing wrong with Talisker of course!

I've had the board open at work for a couple of hours now and there were no issues at all (used to work for about 3-10 clicks and then again next day or after re-start w/new ISP address) - excellent indeed, thanks Rob!

My thanks go to Andrei / Florestan who told me that it is possible again to register. Et voilà!

So, I may ad so now and then some musical news from the Low Countries.

Yesterday was special: Monteverdi's Orfeo in Antwerp, the closing concert of Laus Polyphoniae.
I Fagiolini & The English Cornett and Sackbut Ensemble
Robert Hollingworth, artistic leader
Thomas Guthrie, regie |
Matthew Long, Orfeo | Mary Bevan, Euridice & Musica | Anna Dennis, nimf & Proserpina | Ciara Hendrick, messagera |
Greg Skidmore, sheperd & goast | Nicholas Hurndall Smith, sheperd & Apollo | Christopher Adams, Charon

The performance was "concertante" - no sets, no historical costumes or props.
Minimalistic direction (light, movements)

Mathew Long and Anna Dennis were outstanding.

This is a considerable turnaround from what you were saying a few days earlier, with the various ways you said that you were done with us, and how, when I offered to help you with forum access, you made it quite clear where I could shove my offer of help.

I know this thread is supposed to be all sweetness and light, but here I am bringing my "negative energy" again. Why bother? Because I find that after quite a few days I am still carrying around the "negative energy" that you decided to dump on my head. I read "I've learned so much from all of you" and think, clearly I'm excluded from that because this guy told me how glad he was to be getting away from me and to have me out of his life.

You might have caught yourself just before you finished closing the door on the forum, but as far as I'm concerned it feels like you slammed the door in my face.

Seriously? The whole point is that it doesn’t.

But it wouldn’t be like you to take responsibility for your own words.

I hadn’t realised until now just how much of a jerk you could be.

You radiate the unhealthy version of Enneagram type 9 to an amazing degree.

If I’m a jerk for not wanting to take part in your obvious baiting, then, yes, yes I am. Guilty as charged.
