That's what all the guys with vertically oriented aspect ratios say... ;D

Great Mencken quote, Gurn!

Thanks, ^. It's the first good thing anyone has ever said about criticism... :D

It may well pre-date Sibelius's remark that no statues are erected to its practitioners . . . .

But "The Police" and "Angel" emoticons still refuse to work.   $:)    0:)

Neither of those emoticons work for me, either (on Mac/Firefox 2).

Same two emoticons missing, on Firefox 3.5.5.

Not all the smiley sets have all the smileys. The policeman and angel and "non-standard" smileys.

If you want to see all the smileys, make sure you choose either the "classic" or "default" smiley sets.

I reverted to the classic smiley set (angels and police are very important to me). It adds coziness to this shiny new place.  0:)

I still have an issue with the reply window; when the reply is more than a number of lines long, what is being typed is kept firmly out of sight - the window keeps bringing you up to the first lines. Maybe it's an IE-related glitch?

I think so. I am on Firefox and I just tried to make a post 50 lines long and could still see the 50th line.

Just as long as it is just "Default" and not "Forum/Board Default"! $:) If anyone wants to know, you also get the angel and policeman in the Aaron and Akyhne sets. 8)

Aww...so it's a trade-off. If I want all the smilies I'll have to go with the more retro looking smiley sets.

Which goes against the grain of the "zowee, new board glow!" you've got going on! ;D

(But somehow I think I'll live.)

Anyone else reporting this bug? Nothing like this appears of the SMF support forums.

Do you mean a forum post reply? Using the Quick Reply feature? Could you post a screenshot?

cheers
Rob

      Smileys are fine.

I'm having a problem with images that appear momentarily and then disappear when I preview them. Then in the posts they just aren't there (URLs are). I tried hosting the image on ImageShack with the same result.

Yes, Rob, it happens to the forum post reply window on IE but only when using the "Quote" button (or when quotes, images etc. are inserted manually). The reply button at the bottom of the page works OK but only if there are no quotes inserted in the reply. This glitch was present with the previous software as well. Firefox doesn't seem to have this problem at all as I recently found out, so it's probably an IE issue.

PS. Taking screenshots, I'm afraid, is out of my league, but I hope you got the idea.
