Erik Satie - Musique D’ameublement - searching for music
« on: July 20, 2011, 07:35:53 AM »
This may be a long shot, but does anyone out there possess a copy - real or virtual - of the sheet music (score & parts) for Erik Satie's Musique D’ameublement (Furniture Music)? It's out of copyright, so if someone has a copy kicking around, or knows where i might borrow one, i'd be extremely grateful. i've checked the usual online haunts for such things, but as yet have had no luck.

i'm considering it for inclusion in a future concert given by my ensemble.

No, I've never seen them online, which is a pity. But wikipedia has images of the manuscripts of the 1917 set - two page, one for each piece!

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Furniture_music - the wiki page

and - I'm sure you know it already - http://www.ubu.com/sound/satie_conceptual.html - the ubuweb page with recordings of both of these and others.

I love the enormous (and small) stems - gives the score the appearance of a collection of rather beautiful furniture.
Geologist.

The large print giveth, and the small print taketh away
