Oh, yes. I love so much Bach's music that I'm even listening to some of his keyboard music played on piano. For instance, these days I'm quite interested in Craig Sheppard.

I hope you get the chance to hear his set of the Partitas; it's a knock-out performance.

I'll do it. These days I was listening to his Book 2 of the WTC and the experience was highly rewarding.

Hi Eric (d.b.a. Antoine ;D) Nice to see you back - and I'm not even a huge Baroque fan (though I did see the Met's pastiche, The Enchanted Island, last spring and loved it), but I recognize sane, intelligent posters and appreciate them, whatever genre they enjoy.

--Bruce

Hi, Bruce. I was watching some parts of The Enchanted Island; it seems a nice production. BTW, these kind of pasticci are quite in the same vein of the proceedings of the Baroque composers.  :)

Great news dear Eric.  :)

I seriously feared you had fallen victim to CDCDCD.

Oh, my dear friend, I think our immune system is fully prepared to face any attack of CDCDCD. Just two days ago I ordered some medication from Italy.  ;D

Gordon Shumway - hmm..  I do not think you are that alien after all.

I think the other way around: All of us are aliens! :)

It would be always a pleasure disagree with you, Marc:D

GMG member Anne who often followed opera topics here sent me a message yesterday.

She has had health problems for nearly a year, which prevented her from doing much of anything.  She is now at home, where Internet connections have suddenly become difficult.

So that explains her absence: she would like to be around on a more regular basis.but...

Has anyone heard from Sara (Lethe-vich)?  She hasn't checked in here since 19 July--almost two weeks now.

Anne and I exchanged a lot of posts on the 'reading thread' - we had similar interests in medical history (in fact, she sent me a bio of William Osler, and I sent her several books that I had co-edited on radiology) - earlier this year I joined Facebook (talked into it by relatives but rarely use) - she friended me and we exchange a few emails; her respiratory health, as mentioned already,  is an issue - have not heard from her recently but I always enjoyed her presence and our mutual reading interests - Dave :)

I hope she only wants to scare us a little bit with this absence; she is one of our most intelligent and refreshing members... and one of the very few girls here!  :(

Nor is it that far different. :)

That said, it is now September 12 and the lovely and talented Sara is still unaccounted for since July 19.  I'm sad.... :(

The thing that makes it more worrisome is that she didn't follow that hallowed GMG tradition of deleting one's account. In that case, we will at least know that the member is alive and kicking while simply being sore about (something in) life.

Maybe she listened to too much Pettersson.

I didn't follow in this trend thank goodness. I think it's pointless to delete your account and create another one. No offense to Dave or Karl who do this thing quite often it seems. I prefer to just take a break and leave my account alone.
