Do you know Herbert?  Long time poster here.  Well he quit so fast that his quitting went back in time to the beginning so that he never registered and posted here. ;D

Now we just need to find someone like Merlin inThe Once and Future King*--this person will quit,  post regularly for a period, and then at the end become a member of the forum.

*I realized as I went to post this that T H White's work may not be well known outside of Anglophone countries.   The following is for anyone not familiar with it:
His novelization of the King Arthur legends was the immediate source of the Broadway musical Camelot. and the first portion, The Sword in the Stone, is enough of a children's book to have been made into a Disney animated film.  In White's version, Merlin youthens--that is, he ages in reverse, and remembers what his companions think of as the future, and from his own vantage point, his life will end with his birth.

I wish I knew how to quit you.

I quit, and left, and came back before you even thought of it. I was so fast I didn't even have time to announce it.

FYI, I left GMG early this morning but I came back before even visiting the site again. Hah!

Actually, since I don't visit GMG at work (I would get no work done), I didn't see your goodbye post until you were well and truly returned. In fact, when I first looked at this board, I thought "Why are John and Greg and Dave all leaving at once???"

What started as a sincere goodbye, ended up being one of the funniest GMG jokes. I have to take some credit for this one. :D

You're welcome to it. :) FYI: we've seen it all before...  8)

Anyway, time to close the proceedings...

[Anyone else that wants to write a good bye letter?  :D]
