Those are very fine recordings.
There are two kinds of music. Good music, and the other kind.

I already had the second volume from the original series, I have high hopes for the rest. :)

Some duplication, but still the rest of the albums are worth it:

Thanks to Jens for jarring my memory about these discs.

Welcome! :-) I hope you'll find them as intriguing and evocative and comfort-zone tampering as I do.

Also: I hope I jogged your memory, rather than jarred it.  :D

Thanks to the Super Duper Bargains thread, I've just ordered these -

59 CDs for a total of US $65 including shipping. I figure at that price, I only have to like about 10% of the stuff in the boxes for them to be worthwhile.
Three cheers to the good guy delivery driver who dropped these off halfway through my girlfriend's evening run so she has no idea about my continuing CDCDCD.

Marie-Claire Alain’s big box has only symphonies 1-4. I could have bought only the disc with symphonies 5 and 6, but JPC sells these modern SACD interpretations at a ridiculous price.

Have she come back or have she come to her senses?

I received my Barenboim box two days before you for some reason.  Not that I'm complaining.  I've finished ripping the unripped discs and will commence listening today.  I'd say Liszt first, but I've not heard even one of his three Diabelli recordings yet, so the DG recording gets the nod.
