My local Hindu temple, the largest in Europe as it happens. Unfortunately photography inside isn't allowed- there are luxuriously adorned deities, elaborate sculptured columns and full-time Brahmin preists: numerous pooja ceremonies go on for long hours every day morning and evening. Since the early '90s I've studied Indian philosophy and practiced a daily meditation, and visited India three times. It's a Vishnu temple but with two Shiva gods outside as well: here are the Wikipedia links to the myths-

It seems wrong to me for a temple to have handrails. :)

It's in Tividale, West Midlands, the Sri Venkateswara (Balaji) Vishnu temple.

Is this temple wheelchair accessible?

NPR's All Things Considered recently had a segment on this new Hindu Temple that's being built near Atlanta.

Hi Dm, unfortunately photos from inside aren't allowed. It's very ornate and interesting but there's no getting round this. The building you have there is the Brahmin priests quarters.
