No, you do not.

Yeah yeah yeah. I had my meltdown already. It's useless trying to make me have another one. I don't take you or JBS seriously.

NBack to the real topic: Trump.  I don't like Nancy Pelosi.  She said no to impeachment.   >:(

Nobody likes Nancy Pelosi (except her donors).

You take the Young Turks seriously.  That's all anyone needs to know.  You're fundamentally ignorant of the US in every regard.  You are certainly free to believe otherwise.  Clearly, you do.

Pelosi is a hideous old gargoyle, with politics to match.

The style of TYT is entertaining, but they do pretty good job imo. They give the facts and context. Can't say I agree with them 100 % of the time, but most of the time anyway. When these left-wingers comment on what the right-wing/corporates have said I hear the opinions of both sides, but I pretty much NEVER agree with the right.

If not knowing the GDP of every state is ignorance then yes, I am ignorant, but I don't think I need such knowledge to see that the middle class has been decimated in the US and progressive changes are badly needed. The fact that you don't see it tells me you live in your (upper middle class?) bubble. Maybe you make enough money to not experience the struggle? I understand that you don't care about fellow Americans, but try to understand that those who are worse of than you and have much lower income are struggling and want progressive change.

Fresh evidence of your fundamental ignorance of the US.  Carry on.

Please educate me about who else likes Nancy Pelosi besides of her big money donors whose bidding she does?

Isn’t the pigeon thing a cruel and unusual punishment ?

I would agree, pigeons should have targets of higher quality.

It's not about what kind of education is needed for a certain job. It's about the freedom to choose what kind of job you try to get. Should it be so that everybody from poor families become auto mechanic? Where is the economical ladder? Shouldn't it be so that if you are dumb but from rich family (someone like Trump), you don't have access to higher education because you don't pass the entrance exam and your daddy can't pay you in? Maybe Trump would have become better auto mechanic than businessman/president?
I would refuse to drive any car that mechanic-Trump would do repairs on..
(I think I can safely say that's something we both agree on.)

The problem is twofold
1) the current mindset is that everyone should get a degree, no matter what their ability or vocational interest may be.  Even if they truly want a career for which a college degree is irrelevant.
2) the US has a flawed public school system. If the goals of education are a broad but sound knowledge of facts, and the ability to think critically, then our public schools are failing badly, especially in the latter.  Fixing that is far more important than letting products of that failed system re-inforce their failures at taxpayer expense.

Sane people would regard a country where "politics" mostly involves smearing/confronting politicians with pranks and other foolish things they did as teenagers or college students as a basket case.

A good example of why I say the US educational system is failing to produce people who have critical thinking skills

Correction: A basket case with tons of nukes, the most powerful conventional military on earth by far, the largest economy, the primary reserve currency, and a Treasury that aggressively applies regulations with extraterritorial reach.  (The judiciary does something similar, to boot!)

'Murica!

(And don't dare tell 'Murican lefties on this forum or anywhere else that high school and college shenanigans are unimportant, not after the whole Kavanaugh thingy.)

Perhaps English isn't your first language, but shenanigans is a poor word choice applied to sexual assault.

This is precisely the problem, yes. The nukes are not going to go away soon, the rest of the military has not been terribly impressive in their last few exploits and the third and fourth factor might last another decade or two. Then the sh*t will probably hit the fan big time.

Thanks for the out of context quote.

Googled "Who likes Nancy Pelosi": First link: The Hill Poll: Three-quarters of Americans say Nancy Pelosi should be replaced, including half of Democrats

Maybe that means 1/4 of Americans love Nancy Pelosi, maybe it means 1/4 of Americans are clueless.

The Dem-leaning Americans on other forums I read all seem to admire Pelosi, pretty much without exception.

Clueless, indeed. One can both like Pelosi and what she's done, while at the same time thinking that it's time for younger and fresher politicians to move into leadership positions.

The Dem-leaning Americans on other forums I read all seem to admire Pelosi, pretty much without exception.

Bear in mind that our member from Finland thinks the mainstream Democrats are too moderate, or in his parlance, corporatist, and need to convert to the forms of socialism advocated by AOC and her ilk.

Bear in mind that our member from Finland

This is an international forum, and the member from Finland has as much right as anyone to voice an opinion as anyone else here.  And frankly, I don't find your opinions on US politics particularly astute.

Did I say he has no right to voice an opinion? I did not. I merely tried to get him to understand that he knows far less than he thinks he does, that his sources do not have anything like the impartiality and accuracy he thinks they have, and that his  certitude has no basis in fact.

As for myself, I claim no special wisdom in this or almost any other matter...

I don't think I know everything and since I am a guy from Finland I know my limits, but I know enough to see that some American members here don't know either that much or are not aware of the bubble they live in.
