And it’s not a good-smelling bag, either.

[El Tupé] loyalists rush to defend the indefensible — and get left holding the bag

♫ That’s entertainment, that’s entertainment . . . (well, what would you call it?)

He just can’t do his job, and his fans say, Thass okay!!

[El Tupé] lacks nominees for 245 key jobs, including an ambassador to South Korea

Let me suggest there are two types of deplorables — the self-proclaimed white nationalists who share his views and the people who think racism is of so little consequence that it’s worth having a racist in the White House to get what they want (e.g. a tax cut). That equation — we’ll fuel racism, operate in a world of lies and non-facts, ban Muslims, etc., to get a list of policy items — is frankly deplorable as well. Would they say the same if Trump’s comments incited riots? If he set out to repeal anti-discrimination laws? Apparently there is no end to what he could do or say because, they say, “But Gorsuch!” For conservatives who have long held themselves out to be defenders of the Constitution and supporters of the American creed, this represents a gross betrayal of their principles — which look less every day like principles and more like sticks with which to beat the left.

It has little to do with racism, IMO, but the wholesale censoring and censuring from the Left - prohibiting anybody at all from expressing an opinion.  Trump is the legacy of that repression.

Who was censored?  Who was prohibited from expressing an opinion?

Oh, dear, you think that many delicate snowflakes voted for Trump because their fee-fees were hurt by "the Left" saying mean things about them?  Maybe we should create safe spaces for the poor dears.

How delicately we challenge the racist, when our lips are accustomed to puckering up to the presidential buttocks:

(After nearly 24 hours of silence, House Speaker Paul D. Ryan (R-Wis.) said this in Wisconsin: "First thing that came to my mind is, ‘Very unfortunate. Unhelpful.’")

UN condemns Donald Trump's 'shithole countries' remark as racist

Uh-oh, not the UN.

So much of what Trump does seems designed to incite another 9/11 event. I trust you'll be entertained when that happens.

I would hazard a guess that decades of interventionist US foreign policy, including the killing of thousands of civilians by drone strikes and supporting rather unsavory regimes, has done more to foment potential future violence than Trump's utterances.  I'm not certain that the majority of people in, say, Yemen or the Pakistani Tribal Areas or the Sahel have reliable internet access or watch quite as much TV as westerners do (maybe you have evidence to the contrary), so they may be more influenced by bombs falling around them.  To be sure, terrorist leaders tend to be better educated and not so poor, and they tend to be good at using propaganda, and no doubt they will use Trump's words as recruiting and training tools, but it is very unlikely that such people adopted such an outlook because of Trump.  But kudos to you for trying to preemptively pin a potential future major terrorist attack on Trump's tweets and outbursts.

It’s Time to Censure Trump for ‘Conduct Unbecoming’ of a President

"Another thing to research: Article 133 of the Uniform Code of Military Justice. All senior U.S. military personnel—including women— are subject to a court martial for “conduct unbecoming an officer and a gentleman.” Such conduct includes dishonest, indecent, cruel and dishonorable acts. Article 133 charges require no proof of law-breaking. They can be brought for merely “indecorous” behavior, which means acting like an asinine ignoramus.

If the commander in chief were down a few rungs in the chain of command, he would have been court-martialed months ago for “conduct unbecoming,” just as President Clinton would have been court-martialed in 1998 for having sex with a White House intern. It goes without saying that if either president were a mere CEO of a publicly traded corporation, he would have been tossed out on his ear."

The Uniform Code of Military Justice has nothing to do with the President.  It looks like the author had a word count to hit while trying to lure suckers into believing he was writing something substantive.  Comparisons to CEOs are irrelevant, as well.

Censure is possible - and practically meaningless.

Sure.
But there is no reason for PDR to tear the Donald down. And the same goes for almost all the Reps. They love the winning so far. ISIS mostly quiet for the moment, immigration is down, the DOW is up, taxes are down, and everything Obama did is going to be (slowly) dismantled.

Some leavers are unhappy, Mia Love is unhappy for the moment, Lindsey Graham is either happy or unhappy as long as he's within camera shot, but that's all.

For the rest: it's Grand Old Party Time. They will enjoy it while it lasts.

Man, $130K is steep.  I hope Trump has better advance people now who can spot principled and lower cost porn stars and occasional acquaintances.

Christian Christensen, an American professor of journalism at Stockholm University in neighboring Sweden, tweeted:

“Of course people from Norway would love to move to a country where people are far more likely to be shot, live in poverty, get no healthcare because they’re poor, get no paid parental leave or subsidized daycare and see fewer women in political power.

Says it all really.

"The Islamic movement has now gotten to a point where they have put Europe into chaos, chaos in the Netherlands, there are cars being burned, there are politicians that are being burned,"

BBC: Trump's ambassador to Netherlands finally admits 'no-go zone' claims

On Friday Mr Hoekstra finally admitted to Dutch newspaper De Telegraaf that he had made the remarks, to a right wing gathering in the US, and said he was "shocked" by them.

"That was a wrong statement. That was just wrong," Mr Hoekstra said, adding that it was "clearly that was an inaccurate statement".

I guess trying to "pull a Trump" (lying, denying and calling everything "fake news") doesn’t work in Europe.... ::)

What worries me most, is that a substantial part of the US electorate eats this kind of BS with a spoon... ???

I'm curious about the lawyer's denial. Is there no ethical requirement of the bar that a lawyer refrain from this kind of lie? A naive question perhaps.
