I see nothing unethical in her conduct. I see a lot of verifiable lies being told about her conduct.

It was a dumb thing to do in retrospect, trivial but dumb.

It's difficult but not impossible to get past virtue-signaling as a legitimate argument. If you have "righteousness" on your side, there is no lower limit of insult or dirty tricks that one can descend to defend self-declared victims. I have experienced this on a personal level, when a perpetrator parades as a victim, so my BS detector is well honed.

Yes, look at the comment previous to yours.  This is what Pat Condell was talking about in the excellent little piece I put up entitled "How to Insult a Progressive".  That's all they have:  abuse.

That and reputational destruction.  What a nice bunch they are!!!!!!!  And they wonder (not being overly endowed with intelligence anyway) why they got a nutcase like Trump.  When you have cancer you have to use chemotheraphy and Trump is America's 'chemo'.  But, again, you have to be smart enough to get it and stop doing things to ensure the 'chemo' remains necessary.  Again, a primary school kid could tell you that.

Lots of people on the Intellectual Dark Web are calling out so-called 'progressives' and the loony Left, so I hold out hope things are changing.  It needs to very very badly.  The Victim Olympics has to stop;  the apartheid between men and women has to stop, Gen Snowflake has to stop, grievance politics and its attendant revenge has to stop.  On and on it goes - light years away from the lives of ordinary, hard-working people in the western world who've had it up to here (points to top of head) with the politburo and its propaganda - which has now worked its magic through most of the institutions.  Well, you know what they say about being in institutions?!!!

Take a listen to these guys - it might help!

He's the cancer, not the chemo. And is there any chance you could construct a post as something other than a string of Brietbart buzzwords?

meanwhile:

‘Hyperalarming’ study shows massive insect loss

"Insects around the world are in a crisis, according to a small but growing number of long-term studies showing dramatic declines in invertebrate populations. A new report suggests that the problem is more widespread than scientists realized. Huge numbers of bugs have been lost in a pristine national forest in Puerto Rico, the study found, and the forest’s insect-eating animals have gone missing, too.

In 2014, an international team of biologists estimated that, in the past 35 years, the abundance of invertebrates such as beetles and bees had decreased by 45 percent. In places where long-term insect data are available, mainly in Europe, insect numbers are plummeting. A study last year showed a 76 percent decrease in flying insects in the past few decades in German nature preserves.

The latest report, published Monday in the Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences, shows that this startling loss of insect abundance extends to the Americas. The study’s authors implicate climate change in the loss of tropical invertebrates.

“This study in PNAS is a real wake-up call — a clarion call — that the phenomenon could be much, much bigger, and across many more ecosystems,” said David Wagner, an expert in invertebrate conservation at the University of Connecticut who was not involved with this research. He added: “This is one of the most disturbing articles I have ever read.”

Why is that, now that we're having so much fun?

I'm an evil progressive. I want people to have health care and pile debt on your grandchildren. I don't have grandchildren so it's even better. I also want people to get richer even if they are not rich now. I like science and accept its conclusions. Let scientists take care of the paradigm shifts and let political operatives STFU and learn to listen. Did I say I was evil? Also, no god has ever been caught doing anything so vulgar as existing.

Massive Twitter data release sheds light on Russia’s Trump strategy

"Twitter on Wednesday released a trove of 10 million tweets it says represents the full scope of foreign influence operations on the platform dating back nearly a decade — including Russia's consistent efforts to disparage Hillary Clinton and an initially erratic approach to Donald Trump that eventually settled on a concerted pro-Trump message during the 2016 campaign.

The huge data cache consists of tweets from some 3,400 accounts tied to the Kremlin troll farm known as the Internet Research Agency and 770 others linked to Iran. It also includes some 2 million GIFs, videos and other pieces of visual content. Twitter said it's making the information available to "enable independent academic research and investigation," according to a company blog post.

The Russian tweets around the 2016 presidential election showed distinct patterns when it came to Clinton and Trump, according to researchers at the nonpartisan Atlantic Council's Digital Forensic Research Lab, which has been scouring the data since late last week.

While the Clinton animus was clear from the start, it took the IRA awhile to settle on its Trump strategy, as the Republican primary played out.

"Literally from the day Clinton announced her candidacy they were attacking her," Ben Nimmo, an information defense fellow at the lab, told POLITICO. "But on the Republican side, in the early days, they seemed to be backing more than one horse."

I don't know what family stories I need to figure out. I might think a story I was told was true without figuring it out if it had the level of plausibility her family story had. If you come from Oklahoma and your parents say they eloped because your mother had a "scandalous" ancestry what are you supposed to do, not believe them because....what? What's not believable about it?

The point is on what evidence Warren's paternal grandparents were basing their objection? A question that Rachel Mitchell might ask is, "Do you have names or pictures of Native Americans in your family trees?" Surely if we're talking about relatives that a spouse's family might object to, there must be evidence somewhere and not just hearsay. 1/64 is only 6 generations away, surely not impossible to cough up some name of a relative of two, and actually should be more than one because Warren said there was also Delaware ancestry.

What I was getting at with Cherokees being in Oklahoma from around 1820, if Warren's mother's family were there from 10 generations past, meaning at the same time as the Cherokees but this is a moot point since the DNA tests were against Mexican and Peruvian samples.

Another thing some of you people missed is Trump said hypothetically that IF he were debating Pocahontas, he would make a bet of a million dollars to see evidence of her Indian ancestry. Don't worry, he is NOT that stupid to have made a real wager with her. But she was incredibly dumb to actually take the bait and moreover at the stupidest time possible before elections.

Once again, when posting an article about the Republican party, I have to preface it by saying This Is Not From The Onion:

Dennis Hof death: Brothel owner, reality TV star and pro-Trump candidate, dies aged 72

"Hof, who compared himself to Donald Trump and was running as a Republican candidate for the Nevada state assembly, had spent his last nights celebrating his birthday with friends including controversial former sheriff Joe Arpaio.

He was found dead at the Love Ranch Vegas, one of his brothels in Nevada, by his long-time friend, porn star Ron Jeremy, at 11am on Tuesday. "

You simply can't make this shit up.

So he suspected it was true? The timing is good if she's running in 2020 - you can get it out of your system now so it wont be some swiftboat-style distracting nonsense later. So go ahead: get it all out - there is, after all, no more pressing concern.

It seems the point changes to whatever you want it to be. I don't think there is a point any more. When you get to questioning the basis for the grandparents objections you have lost contact with reality.

Elizabeth Warren said she had not only Cherokee ancestry but Delaware, two distinct tribes. Without any factual evidence, she USED this fiction to get preferred treatment at Harvard. Repeating a lie hundreds of times doesn't make it true. Why women like that should be believed is a mystery to me. Thank goodness she is FINISHED politically. She violated one of the left's own rules, that of cultural appropriation. Good riddance!

You want rid of a politician who gave americans Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB). Do you want banks, credit unions, security firms, payday lenders, mortgage-servicing operations, foreclosure relief services, debt collectors and other financial companies screw you? Chances are no other politician has improved your life more than Elizabeth Warren, but you want rid of her because of your mindless fixation into Republican conservative ideology.

I don't want government to improve my life. That is not its function. The nanny states are themselves the most intrusive offenders of personal freedom. So-called regulatory agencies are little more than juggernauts with bloated budgets and number of employees. Laws already put in place with the checks and balances of the free market should be enough to forego any abuse. Warren can go back to her tepee.

Watching that rant clip of a certain self-pronounced bright light named Pat Condell, the first question that arose, after about one minute, was: "and did you yourself ever talk to Jehovah's Witnesses?" From the simplistic conclusions he drew abou them, I would say not. And such an unlucky fellow, besides that he only seems to know progressives who are easily offended by childish rant. I felt rather sorry for him. But he himself seemed to be very happy with his sermon, and a lot of followers are cheering with him. So peace to him and his church. 0:)

Just about everything here is a misrepresentation. Most is too nebulous to really refute.

But I read the scientific report on Warren's DNA. It was prepared by Carlos Bustamante, one of the leading researchers on population genetics, and one of the people responsible for creating the algorithms that are used on DNA testing sites like 23andme. Warren's DNA was not tested against "Mexican and Peruvian Samples." That's just plain wrong, presumably a lie made up by some right-wing pundit based on the fact that Carlos Bustamante is of Peruvian descent. According to the report Warren's DNA was tested against a database of samples from Europe, Africa, East Asia, and Native populations throughout the Americas. The analysis was run by a researcher who did a detailed investigation (beyond what a DNA testing web site would do) who was not informed of the identity the person submitting the sample. To claim it is a "fraud," as Trump has, is ridiculous.

[Note added: It is correct that the Native American samples were collected in Peru, Columbia and Mexico. One would conclude that the Native American genetic characteristics detected in Warren's sample correlated with samples taken in neighboring Mexico. The lack of samples from the Oklahoma would prevent the Native American contribution from being identified more specifically.]

Reality is do these relatives, Cherokee and Delaware, have names, pictures or some trace of having existed? How would a prospective spouse know for sure his fiancee had Native American blood unless there was proof somewhere. Otherwise, one could say, "Honey, that is only a rumor, and if it were true, must have been far back in generations, so you can tell your parents I'm lily white".  It is not impossible to construct family trees. Warren could have done her own research. What is the problem, except there aren't any Injuns?

Just about everything here is a misrepresentation. Most is too nebulous to really refute.

What is nebulous is the significance of the possibility of a 1/1024 DNA connection.

But I read the scientific report on Warren's DNA. To claim it is a "fraud," as Trump has, is ridiculous.

There is something else most people are missing but not the head of the Cherokee Nation. It is a matter of culture and tradition that can't be quantified. There is nothing that qualifies Warren for identifying with Native Americans. In practice, a convert to Judaism or someone with only a maternal line could be more Jewish than someone who decided to be an atheist but has all four grandparents as Mosaic.

And why is this worse then claiming Obama was born in Kenya which is a verifiable lie? And how did politics implode to such discussions at all?

Barry Soetoro has only himself to blame for the obfuscations concerning his birth. He most likely used his stay in Indonesia and probable dual citizenship to get into Columbia University as a foreign student. Most evidence points to Frank Marshall Davis being his actual father when his mom was in Hawaii. (That lady really got around!)

And so he made up his first book, about his father? That was part of his devious plan as well? Man, Tumpers are looney tunes. All the Q stuff too. It's a cult, not a political party.
