Stupid question
« on: January 14, 2017, 08:17:43 AM »
This might seem a daft question from someone who has been a member of this forum for many years but why are the top threads in each section (ie above this message) in a different colour to all the other threads?

They are the 'sticky' threads, that's why.

Thank you Karl. Is that because they are considered the most important topics?
Thanks to North Star too.

It's more like they're of perennial interest rather than temporary.

They're "sticky" because the administrators did not wash their fingers after eating Wine Gums.

Don't know if this is the right thread but I'm a newbie on the forum.

Is there anyway I can get the newest posts first, e.g something to click on to?  When I go in, it is showing posts from a few years ago.

Thank you for any help

Or do you mean this? You should click on the last page number instead of the thread name

You cuold click the last page but clicking the orange "new" button works better.

??

That's what I have done since joining the forum - click the orange button.  It was how I got to your post.
It sends (always did) me to the first post of the first page of that thread

Maybe you are clicking the thread title and not just the orange button.  Or I have a magic browser.   ;)
Nah! :) and wow :) It behaves differently if you ever visited the thread or posted on or not. Very good to know feature
Not a solution for Judith though :)

That was not a stupid question.
The best example of one is "Can I ask you a question?"

Judith,

Sorry I didn't see your post here, been busy and just missed it.

Go to your profile, | Look & Layout, and check the box as in the picture below. Easy peasy, it is the only way mine has ever been set up. :)

'Stupid question' seems to be a good name for a question thread!  >:D

Hey - is there any existing thread that specifically focuses on books about classical music, composers, performers, orchestras, biographies etc?
