A bit earlier tonight:

Disc 1 -

Such a gorgeous album.

??? ??? ???  Catching up to posts on this thread after my three-week hiatus, I'm shocked to discover that you listen to any "popular" music other than prog rock. Maybe I simply missed older posts pointing to a more diversified listening on your part, but I'm truly delighted to find out you listen to something other than Genesis and Hackett  ;) Especially happy to find out you like Alison Krauss.

the phone rings and somebody says,
"hey, they made a movie about
Mahler, you ought to go see it.
he was as f*cked-up as you are."

Hah! ;D Well...I don’t know what to say. I’ve always loved bluegrass music even if I don’t always express it here (or elsewhere). I do like Fleetwood Mac a lot as well. I love all their albums with Buckingham/Nicks. Also, I love jazz music, but it seems that classical music has had the most profound effect on me.

Be interested in your thoughts on this one, Simon. Heard a few brief samples and it sounds interesting indeed.

Just a first listen, but quite similar in mood and storytelling to The Ugly One With The Jewels, if you know that album, no songs and many seeming unconnected divergences from the main narrative. The Kronos accompaniment is always interesting and diverse, including electronics and tape and is never mere background - another unexpected addition to their discography coming right after the absolutely superb Malian album last year.

Now playing:

A Christian acoustic rock band with a melodic sensibility that I quite like. Adrian Belew, of Frank Zappa and King Crimson fame, produced the songs Liquid and Flood (a major radio hit upon it’s release).

Now playing:

The only album from Britpop rockers Blur that I’ve ever enjoyed from start to finish. I still consider Leisure (their debut album) their best.

Several years ago I saw this live! I didn’t realize it had been released.
