Hejira - Joni Mitchell

A close second to Blue as my favorite Joni record.  I love the songs, but Jaco makes this one great.

Hejira is my favorite Joni album

Side one of Vangelis Soil Festivities is perhaps his finest moment, imo.

Love Silk Degrees too.

now:

David Byrne - American Utopia (2018)
Ry Cooder - The Prodigal Son (2018)

Fairuz - The Legendary Fairuz
Omar Sosa and Seckou Keita – Transparent Water (2017)

pity they didn't go with the tour poster image for the Byrne cd cover:

and speaking of Byrne: I haven't heard it yet, but just found out that Anjelique Kidjo's latest album is a complete reworking of Talking Heads' Remain In Light:

That is really interesting. I wonder, if I may ask, how you are just coming to listen to something like that just now. I am assuming that you may not have been interested in Prog Rock or even Yes back in the day, which is fine, but what, therefore, prompted you to seek it out now? Really curious  ;D

Good question. I guess I came from the Owner Of A Lonely Heart generation, and while Pink Floyd's music (Dark Side and post-Dark Side) clicked immediately, Yes's earlier music didn't.

I loved collecting CDs when they came out, but when I later went through some rough times, all my CDs were stolen. About 15 or so years ago, I started collecting CDs more actively, picking up the best sounding masterings I could find and also going for many classic albums/artists I had previously ignored or simply didn't love right away. Among these is Yes's early stuff. An added bonus is that my girlfriend, whom I live with, enjoys Yes. Always nice to find stuff that we both enjoy, since we live in a small studio apartment.

Cheers and thank you for that. No prying intentional just mere curiosity ;)  :)
