James Taylor: One Man Dog

Another firm favourite from the Taylor stable for me with those short, capriccio type songs and the medley like progression. I particularly like the instrumentals.

Cohen: Death of a Ladies’ Man

The Phil Spector album! I remember listening to an interview with Cohen in relation to this album. The sessions were apparently mayhem “with bullets rolling around the floor”. I am paraphrasing:

Spector [with his arm around Cohen’s shoulder]: Leonard, you are a great guy.
Cohen [looking at the gun close to his head]: You too Phil!

Ella Fitzgerald: The Rodgers & Hart Songbook, Vol. II -- I tend to take Ella for granted. Not good, especially when I hear a beautiful example like this one. She did a number of "Songbooks" -- including work by Cole Porter, Gershwin, and others -- but this must be one of the best.

Her songbook series is a classic.   Besides the ones you mention, I also would add the Ellington and Harold Arlen CDs - some really great music in these recordings, which think have been collected in a  box.

Yes to all. Also realized I have the Johnny Mercer recording, which I'll revisit soon.
