Mono or Stereo mix? If you like this, you may want to check out the live "Resurrection" CD from the 90's. It's a very spirited performance live at Abbey Road studios with narration from the great Arthur Brown!

As I wind down my first listen to this album, I can't help but notice the incredibly strong influence of Bob Dylan throughout.

Well, this afternoon I listened to a bunch of 'classical' music - Susan (i.e. Harpo) was getting tired of the sound, so for our 'dinner music' I put on some CDs from our Ann Arbor days - we saw both of these performers live back in the late 60s and early 70s - still memorable for us - we loved them at that time, and tonight still enjoyed these old songs!  :D

That Lightfoot comp is enjoyed regularly in this home too, Dave!  :)

Stereo, and it's actually a double, coupled with the Ressurection CD which I still need to play.

Listening to:

...specifically the tracks that comprise this album:

I think I've only given this suite one cursory listen before because it's not all that jazzy overall--not that it has to be but that I'm only in a jazz mood when I reach for this box. Actually, it's pretty good.

Cool! That's a neat pairing. I bought the mono CD and Resurrection years ago. The newer performance, though "live in the studio", does not lose any power from lack of "studio manipulation". It works quite well "live". It was only last year that I scooped up the Sundazed stereo LP reissue - the first time I heard the original stereo mix and it was better than I expected - and unique enough from the mono to be entertaining and worth the bother. I'm sure some of those mono-only CDs are still floating around if you are curious about that mix. I believe the one I have was issued by Castle in 1998. There have been other re-issues, but I'm not an expert on those. If you like SF Sorrow you might want to check out "Parachute" next. Arguably their next best record. Anything beyond that is hit or miss IMO. I bought all the other 70's records and darned if I could recall anything really memorable about any of them! But SF Sorrow is, indeed, a classic! Enjoy!

Needledrop of the Classic Records 200 gram reissue. Nice fat bass on this one.  8)
