BTW, what works perfectly for this, and stuff like playing music on MySpace, is the free service FileDen.

Just create an account, upload and grab the URLs.  :)

Thanks for the FileDen hint, Greta - I was looking for a place that could host files for playing over here.

No reason why it shouldn't. Any bit rate, incl. variable should be OK. Try it and see.

It doesn't work here at all. Playback is too fast. First I thought it's a VBR issue, but the I uploaded a CBR file (lame @ -b 96).

Yes, I'm having the same problem over at the Score Quiz... :-\ It did work fine for me in the past when I posted 192 snippets in the Broadcast Corner but now the small 64 samples don't work. Could this problem depend on the bitrate??

No replies, so here's a test. Same music, different bitrates:

320
[mp3=200,20,0,left]http://www.fileden.com/files/2007/8/25/1381505/bitrate%20test/Haendel%20Rinaldo's%20Aria%20A%201%20(Podles%2CPRCO%2CDuczmal)320.mp3[/mp3]

192
[mp3=200,20,0,left]http://www.fileden.com/files/2007/8/25/1381505/bitrate%20test/Haendel%20Rinaldo's%20Aria%20A%201%20(Podles%2CPRCO%2CDuczmal)192.mp3[/mp3]

128
[mp3=200,20,0,left]http://www.fileden.com/files/2007/8/25/1381505/bitrate%20test/Haendel%20Rinaldo's%20Aria%20A%201%20(Podles%2CPRCO%2CDuczmal)128.mp3[/mp3]

64
[mp3=200,20,0,left]http://www.fileden.com/files/2007/8/25/1381505/bitrate%20test/Haendel%20Rinaldo's%20Aria%20A%201%20(Podles%2CPRCO%2CDuczmal)64.mp3[/mp3]

32

Penultimate one plays at double speed. Last one doesn't play at all. :'( Problem solved??

Could someone please confirm that I'm not the only one experiencing this?

Rob, is there any way to tweak the settings so that the lower bitrate files would play properly?

Maciek,

The 32 bit file plays at double speed for me.  The others don't play, except the 192 and 320, which play perfectly.

I'm running Ubuntu Linux 7.10 with Firefox 2.0.0.8.

I hope that helps.

32 - doesn't play
64 - plays at double speed
128, 192, 320 - play normally

Afraid not - this is a proprietry plug-in that I have no access to the inards.

I suggest you upload bitrates that work well - that is 128, 192, 320

Anyone tried 96?

cheers
Rob

Here's my try at narrowing it down a bit:

320 kbps
[mp3=200,20,0,left]http://www.fileden.com/files/2007/8/25/1381505/bitrate%20test/Chopin%20Etude%20F%20Maj%20Zimerman%20320.mp3[/mp3]

112 kbps
[mp3=200,20,0,left]http://www.fileden.com/files/2007/8/25/1381505/bitrate%20test/Chopin%20Etude%20F%20Maj%20Zimerman%20112.mp3[/mp3]

96 kbps
[mp3=200,20,0,left]http://www.fileden.com/files/2007/8/25/1381505/bitrate%20test/Chopin%20Etude%20F%20Maj%20Zimerman%2096.mp3[/mp3]

80 kbps
[mp3=200,20,0,left]http://www.fileden.com/files/2007/8/25/1381505/bitrate%20test/Chopin%20Etude%20F%20Maj%20Zimerman%2080.mp3[/mp3]

OK. It seems 112 kbps is the lowest the system can cope with.

Harry, you need to get the http addresses of the mp3 files first - the only way to do that is by looking at the source code (do a search for ".mp3" in it) - I'm not sure if the addresses will still work once your session is over though. Anyone know?

I managed to get it working. Thanks Greta for the Fileden tip! :) I was trying to figure out if I could somehow link to my gmail using the gspace Firefox extension but noooooo...I should have known.

The file is -V 0 (Fast Extreme) 231kbps avg. so VBR is working fine. Fileden has a 50 MB individual file limit for the free account!  ;D

I need some help!
I want to embed uploaded files from either Fileden or Mediafire into our GMG MP3-player, but it doesn't work. Is it the format? I used 320 kbps, maybe the VBR is the problem?
