Hi, Im Victoria Sánchez Orchestra Conductor
« on: September 10, 2017, 08:20:38 AM »
My name is Victoria Sánchez  ;). I begun formal musical studies from an early age in Caracas, my city of birth in Venezuela. I enrolled in the Music Conservatory Simon Bolivar where I focused on Choral Practice, Composition and Piano. Thanks to the support of Maestro José Antonio Abreu and through El Sistema, I´ve received training in piano, chamber music, and orchestral conducting under the guidance of great conductors of international renown, such as Helmuth Rilling, Sung Kwak, Francisco Noya, Vivian Weilerstein, Konstantin Pfiz, Patrick Lange, Luis Rossi y Venezuelans Alfredo Rugeles, David Ascanio, the famous composer, pianist, and harpsichord player Abraham Abreu and Eduardo Marturet, conductor of the Miami Symphony Orchestra, who is currently my conducting instructor. As a piano player I´ve played with the Simón Bolívar Symphony Orchestra, The Caracas Youth Symphony and the Youth Symphony Orchestra Teresa Carreño, which have been conducted by musicians such as Ulyses Ascanio, Eduardo Marturet, Simon Rattle, Gustavo Dudamel, among others, appearing on important musical stages in countries such as Germany, Britain, Spain, Netherlands, Austria, Norway, Belgium, Italy, Czech Republic, Russia, Portugal, China, and South Korea.

I really love to be here and share with you this musical journey. If you want to know more about me you can go to my web page http://www.directoradeorquesta.com or see part of my videos in my Youtube Channel https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCS34CjaXJQ9AynN1gwyKeyw

Thanks for share your joy for music. Hope to hear from you soon.

Hi, I just stumbled upon your post and see there have been no responses. Maybe it was overlooked somehow on a day when everyone was doing something else. At any rate, I hope you are enjoying your stay here.

I used to teach in a school where there was an excellent Venezuelan musicologist about 15 years ago. I wondered what happened to her if she went back to her country with all the upheaval, etc. Hearing about shortages, I also thought to send her stuff (like music books) if she needed them,  but who knows if packages would ever reach their destinations?

I too never saw this posting from Victoria. I check this forum everyday and I pretty much always post a reply to a newbie's first intro post. I may not post much in the rest of this forum but I do try to make it my mission to greet and welcome newbies to GMG-Land.  :)

So Victoria, greetings from a SoCal gal living in Beethoven and Mozart's Vienna. Welcome to the forum (better late than never). Please forgive us and I hope that you are still checking out this forum from time to time.

Your newbie introduction is quite impressive indeed and I see that you were here in Austria at one time. Did you perform here in Vienna? I hope you enjoyed your time here and that you were able to see some of the sights of Vienna before having to leave.
