Distant Prommer, a refugee from the Amazon Forum, says hello.
« on: October 10, 2017, 09:00:48 AM »
There are many refugees from the Amazon Classical Music forums (fora?) in the US and the UK, who are  moving on to other similar music forums. Many have gone to Talk Classical, as have I, but now that I have been introduced to GMG I hope that others can find their way here.

As my name suggests, I am an avid follower of the Proms (aka Prommer) but now living far from London. Even so, I do make it to the Proms every year, attending at least two concerts. I have been going to the Proms, unbroken, for the last 60+ years.

Currently, depending on the time of year,  I reside in the US, UK and Mexico.

Hello, Distant Prommer, and welcome from NYC. Though I have never heard any of the Proms live, I have caught some of them recently via the Internet. (Incredible, the amount of music available.) In any case, have a good time here.

Welcome aboard, Distant Prommer! Who are some of your favorite composers?
My favorite Debussy and Ravel pianists: Zoltán Kocsis, Alexandre Tharaud, Anne Queffélec, and Paul Jacobs

I used to read the Amazon CM forum regularly and recognize your name from the US board - welcome to GMG. :)
I think this is the most well organized English-speaking CM Forum ATM and think you would be happy here.
