A tentative return?
« on: March 17, 2018, 11:19:23 PM »
Yes, it's me.

I don't even know how to start this now, I kind of feel out of my waters coming back. Now marks close to 5 months of complete absence of classical forums and groups. I've been through a lot the last year and feel like a different person on here now.
Classical music isn't a big preoccupation (even in listening) of mine anymore but I still love it.
Everything from Xenakis, Webern, Messiaen, Mahler etc is still very dear to my heart.
From now on, my contributions are be less prolific but I am ready to step back in this forum.

So, here I am again  :-[ saying hello again.

Yours truly, ALIEN

I knew you’d be back, Alien. :) It was a question of time more than anything. Like the rest of us, you can’t hide from this music --- it is in your blood plain and simple. No need in denying yourself of what your passion is and always will be. We all take breaks from music we love dearly, but we always return. Remember this and stop with the mindset of ”I don’t know if I’ll ever return to classical music again” as it’s futile and pointless to resist anything that continues to have purpose and meaning in your life.

I haven't been denying myself of anything but I have been honest about it, which obviously confused the hell out of you  :D

I knew you’d be back, Alien. :)

But is he back? Based on what Gurn says, he's already deleted the new account.

But, Alien, or Manwithaplan, if you're lurking somewhere, I do hope you return. We need more modern-music enthusiasts here.

Classical music is still mostly in the background (as opposed to other music) but I think I should have been more upfront about everything with people here.

Uni is behind me for now but deciding not to do year two was based solely on finances and time, it's holding me back from a lot of things in these formative years - aka I want to live it and continue to grow in areas that I'm not comfortable etc

Welcome back Alien. It's always nice to hear again from members who have not posted in quite awhile for whatever reason. I myself don't post that often but I do check out this forum everyday. Glad to hear that you're doing well. Take care.  8)

Great to see you again.  I'm sorry that you've been going through some hard times.

From which you conclude:

Great to see you again.  I'm sorry that you've been going through some hard times.

how?

Welcome back Aliean (sic). I'm not sure whether it is more accurate to consider this a return or a relapse.  :)
