If you are seeing this, then you are seeing the forum on its new server. From your point of view, it shouldn't look much different. All posts, messages, attachments etc should all be there. But the data is now located on a physically different server.

The moving process was not fun. Many cups of coffee, whisky and many, many swear words were involved.

From my testing, it seems to be OK. The Ad management system is creating some errors, so ads are disabled for everyone for now. I am not sure if email notifications will work as my email server settings are all new.

Please let me know of any bugs or things that don't seem to work as they should.

Rob

I have had a PM telling me that they can't post. Can you please let me know via PM what message you get when you try.

Rob, Thanks for all the work to sustain the site.

I realised it was back up due to notification that a new post had been made in the topic....
Carmina Burana by Carl Orff

However, when I clicked on replies to my posts, the topic does not appear, neither can I find it using search or advanced search. The thread does not come up either when I click on all new posts.

Hi Mike

That was just me making (and deleting) a test post.

Thanks for all your efforts, Rob!

Just one question: what about the 'old' forum?
I was one of those retro idiots who still visited that one from time to time (to read old 'reviews' et al).

The old forum is in hibernation. I have downloaded all the data for safekeeping. One day I may upload the database, and link it to the forum software. But I've had enough fun for one day.  :P

Well its certainly a pleasure to see GMG on line again. Over the years one get attached to it.
Thank you for all the effort and money (your own) you put into this project.
I know what it means if you change servers, had this done also a couple of months ago. That was no fun trip.

Thanks, Rob, for a great job!

It’s great to have the forum up and running again, as well to see our fellow GMGers again.  :)

Cheers,
Ritter

Rob, it must have been quite an ordeal... I had to deal with a crashed computer this week, so I can only imagine what this must have been like...

My sincerest gratitude for your personal dedication to the forum!  :)

Cannot correct my posts, the links in the notification do not work, and I found my postings in the spam, so that's corrected,
