Yes, if every teacher has a gun, that will solve everything.

That is the conundrum of this season.  “Arm the teachers!” is idiocy, transparent to anyone who isn’t an NRA pinhead or a narcissistic con man, or his enablers.

Oscars' TV audience dropped to 26.5 million — an all-time low

Maybe it is sinking in there is nothing to admire about celebrities.

Maybe it is sinking in there is nothing to admire about celebrities.

I didn’t watch The Oscars, but I’m sick and tired of celebrities using award shows as a platform to rant and rave about politics. Those who actually do something about anything are the ones that don’t even feel compelled to speak about it as their actions do the talking for them. These celebrities live in a bubble that’s so far removed from our society that when they do manage to get out of this bubble, they look at us as if we’re aliens from another planet entirely. But this isn’t anything we didn’t know already.

Anybody celebrating International Women’s Day ?

For the occasion, Canada Mint is issuing its new 10$ bill, featuring Viola Desmond.

https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Viola_Desmond

10 years before Rosa Parks, Desmond, a Black woman, refused to leave the Whites-only ground floor seat in a Halifax movie theater (the balcony was reserved to the Blacks). She was arrested, detained and fined. The Province of Nova Scotia issued a posthumous apology and pardon...in 2010. At least this makes up for such a belated gesture.

Happy Woman’s Day, Viola !

The kicker is buried well down in the story

The closing paragraph is . . . something else, as well, of course.

Unimportant...Hmm...well, it's the MOST important news to me. But in the scheme of things...anyway: My son was born early Thursday morning. I've been flying high since then, but I'm also exhausted!
