Very much; I've been meaning to get this box forever.

Muti and the 5th are quite under-rated. It's a good version. Interestingly, I am watching MEZZO as I type and they are showing the 5th counducted by Gergiev with the Mariinsky Orchestra (or whatever they are called these days). A bit disappointing. He is exaggerating everything, but it a sterotyped way. So instead of a Bernstein type angst or romanticism, it's a bit of a parody of itself. I expected more. The clarinet was slightly out of tune at the beginning too. Drove me nuts. Anyway, we'll soon get the the 4th movement - perhaps it will improve there (third movement is already better than previous).

I nearly could not listen through to his entire recording of the Prokofiev Romeo & Juliet . . . just too mannered. And I hate to say that of Gergiev, whom I saw conduct the Mariinka (<-- affectionate form for the Mariinsky Theatre, or its orchestra) in a life-changing performance of the Leningrad Symphony here in Worcester, Mass.

Well, I can say he recovered somewhat in the last movement. He milked the beginning too much, let the timpini get a nice long solo in (irritating that, along with allowing him to play too loudly for an extended period), but then it started getting better. It was at least a decent last movement. Although he's back to milking it again before they really take off and fly. Ok - flying. And the ending - medium slow. Ah well, still fun to watch - and better than anything else on! :)

EDIT: Looks like they will be playing 3 and 6 next!  Cool...
