It's OK, since the Classic Era is all I listen to, we have the bases covered in spades. Welcome aboard, you have many kindred spirits here. 0:)

Welcome!
You don't live in Massachusetts, by any chance?
Welcome from France !
The classical period did not last more than 50 years which his a speck of dust in the history of classical music. So you still have a lot to choose from ! The backtrack web site tracks all the concerts that are given all over the world. According to their stats the lost performed music is the romantic period followed by 20th century music. So you see you are right in the mainstream..

Many thanks, Gurn. I said that period was my least favorite, but that doesn't mean I don't listen to it. I do indeed; my favorite works from period are the Haydn string quartets.
Thanks for the kind words of welcome.

Thank you for your welcome, Dr. Henning. Respectfully, I'd rather not say where I'm located; I like to remain as anonymous as possible on the interwebs.

Be at liberty!
Ah, but I recognise that hill in the background. Dead giveaway. 😉

Welcome, now what contemporary music do you speak of? 8)
Good question. I love most 20th- / 21st-century composers with the exception of the Minimalist school. Two of my favorites have recently (or semi-recently) died: Elliott Carter and Schnittke. So while I still hear their work as "contemporary," they sadly are not.
Of late, I've also been listening to the Ferneyhough string quartet box set (Arditti).

Welcome to GMG!

Hi and welcome, and I like your avatar!

I like your Avatar too. It reminds me of 'Atom Heart Mother' by Pink Floyd.
Cows are most excellent creatures and their breath is sweet, which is good because that cow is up close and personal. Viva vegetarians!@#* (forgive the partisan politics, Omicron and welcome).

Ghost Sonata,
Thank you for the welcome. And I concur about the cows! Fine and noble animals, and fun as well. No need to apologize; I am also a vegetarian.
Kind regards,

It's right there in the avatar; perhaps subliminally. Cows eat grass (or corn); hence all cows are vegetarian. :)
Happy graze we here again!
Amazing Graze, how sweet the sound...
