Frankly, I'm disappointed that my friend (if he'll allow me to call him this) has downgraded himself as merely a 'guest.' Very discouraging. Do not let what others say to you get to you, Alan! You have far too much integrity and class for this!
I hope you return as a full-fledged member, but, whatever you wish to do, I support. It's just a shame to lose a member of the GMG family to a thread that was heading into inevitable lockdown anyway.
COME BACK!
No reason for any 'should' here. Elgarian will do what he wants, just like the rest of us.

Well, yes, in hindsight, but this goes beyond my intent or purpose of this thread, Bulldog. :)
Of course he should! 0:)
That said, I admit sometimes I have been fed up myself with GMG. I don't blame anyone for such thing. Sometimes I need to enjoy classical music alone without anyone's comments, recommendations or suggestions. Now I'm listening to Clérambault.
He should and he will.
I really enjoyed reading his posts! Sad to see that he has left. I hope only for a short while!
As one who has (briefly) contemplated quitting GMG as well, I can fully understand his frustration and anger. But just as mine subsided by now, I hope his will too and he will return.
I don't think I've managed to stay away for more than a few months.

And we're always happy to see you return.

Ditto. And I too hope he will return.
I have long enjoyed and learned from Alan's posts. He is a real asset to the folk here and I very much hope he will return soon.

We many of us need the odd break. I'm glad that your more phlegmatic self has re-prevailed.

I can put it no better, thank you.
We need an expert on Elgar.
I think we need THAT expert on Elgar.
Cheers,
Mike
Just a question that's puzzled me about GMG: what's with all the account canceling? I understand the leaving part but why cancel your account as well - is it to let others know you're gone?

Artfully done, sir.
I didn't mean we don't have many Elgar experts. But you call yourself "Elgarian", well, that must mean something!
