This just arrived! Listening to discs 1-2.
It's a really cheapo package, but didn't cost much...Glossa's single CDs are classy productions with big informative books. For this box, there's a minimal booklet and one has to download a .pdf for libretti.

Franz Konwitschny seems to be under the radar.  I know of him, have heard a recording or two (and they are great)... but I've only seen like one poster consistently listen to him.

Scherchen is most known for having one of the fastest Eroicas on record pre-HIP... but he was also a great conductor that I don't see a lot of discussion on anymore.

Beecham's Berlioz is stunning, and such a fine musician that he was even knighted... but again it is pretty rare these days to hear him mentioned.

Concertos.
See back cover for details.
Recorded:2000, at the Auditorium Padurera, Cento, Italy.

Lively interpretations, expressive and atmospheric compositions, to say the least. The tonal language, and melodic intensity is remarkable. I am tiptoeing into Rota's music, and rather like it. Excellent sound and performances. I bookmarked quite a few of his recordings. Are there some I must absolutely hear, then let me know.

Try this one

Not sure if this falls under the TZ thread or Star Trek thread but here is a new interview with William Shatner talking about both.
