Post by: Marc on September 15, 2017, 03:53:57 PM
One of my favourite actors.
He was 91 years old.

May he rest in peace.

"I shall not cause harm to any vehicle nor the personal contents thereof, nor through inaction let that vehicle or the personal contents thereof come to harm. That's what I call the repo code, kid. Don't forget it, etch it in your brain. Not many people got a code to live by anymore."

Harry Dean Stanton as "Bud," Repo Man, 1984

RIP

He is in David Lynch's The Straight Story for only about 5 minutes at the end, but it was worth the wait!

I learned from him never to go looking in dark, isolated compartments for a cat.

Oh no! We were just discussing this in a film thread earlier this week, Cato. What a great scene.

I will always remember Harry as the father in Pretty in Pink (sorry, I grew up in the 80s) but mostly from this scene in Wim Wenders' Paris, Texas...

If you haven't seen this film, watch it. But this particular scene is beautiful.

Indeed.
