Title: Neglected pianist
Post by: tarantella on October 14, 2010, 03:37:39 PM
I'd like to draw lovers of piano music to the playing of this superb lady, Christine Croshaw
www.christinecroshaw.com
Now 68 and nearly blind she has returned to solo playing following a distinguished career as a chamber music partner to the likes of Nathan Milstein, Alan Civil, Peter-Lukas Graf, Antonio Janigro and others
The colour and variation of textures in her playing are beautiful.
I'd love more music lovers to be aware of her playing and teaching.
Post your thoughts here - there are samples on her website's discography page of her CDs. Some very affecting and unjustly neglected piano solo and piano chamber music by Hummel, Weber, Dussek, Czerny and Moscheles - and a disc of Saint Saens forthcoming this Autumn...
