I don't have much by Casella.  Just the first 2 symphonies CDs on Naxos, and the Naxos CD containing Scarlattania, the song, and the cello concerto.  I am not too fond of the first symphony, nor the cello concerto but the rest I really liked

Honestly, just the 3rd symphony is the only work by Casella that I thought had greatest musical substance to it. I don't like his other two symphonies at all. To be even more honest, I prefer Respighi and Malipiero to Casella.

Well, my favorite is the 2nd. But then, I thought the Chandos version much better than the Naxos discs. I hope Chandos will persevere.

Edit: I probably should get the cpo 3rd, but I will look for signs of a continuance of the Chandois series first.

Thanks Geo Dude - I like Klemperer in Beethoven and Mahler and think his Brahms should be pretty good too! :)
I've wanted this set for a while and it's pretty cheap on Amazon UK at the moment so I figured I should get it now before it goes out of print!  :D
Yes, lots of these GROC's are schedules to disappear. Just bought Kern's Showbiat for the same reason and very cheap (despite having the LP set).

Just ordered at jpc:

This purchase was actually accompanied by quite some teeth grinding.... ::) :P

On my last purchase I missed somehow a Marais set on Ligia, unfortunately gone this time around. And I was also too late for the Mazzoni opera Amanti on K617.... @#&$%! :o

Many thanks to our new member from France, Discobole, for recommending the Couperin! :)

You cannot schnooze in this business. An astounding set I'm afraid I have to say, I bought it very cheaply on jpc a couple of years ago, so maybe it will appear again.

Q,  Are you ready for this?  Two different CD's sharing the same art work.  I bought this Orlando di Lasso a few months ago ...   :o

Just placed an order consisting of the following CD's this afternoon ...

It should be quite interesting to compare this version of Handel's Israel in Egypt with the earlier version on Erato, both by Gardiner.  The earlier version now costs some mega bucks.  I bought that version (first on LP and later on CD) shortly after I had attended the same concert performance by Gardiner and his ensemble at Lincoln Center roughly 25 years ago ...

Two additional small orders with two Amazon MarketPlace vendors for this weekend ...

kishnevi

Two orders on Amazon MP.  Atterberg is a natural followup to the CPO recording of his concertos while the S. Wagner may be safely blamed on Sarge--but since I didn't want to load up my cart just to make the shipping charges more rational,  and seeing JPC describe availability as "1-3 days, if available from supplier", (plus no credit card foreign transaction fees to get dinged with) buying it Amazon MP is just about the same amount of money

Edit: the second one, which is the Atterberg Symphonies box from CPO, doesn't seem to be showing, for no apparent reason....

Jeremiah's lament over the destruction of Jerusalem by Rembrandt van Rijn is used quite often as a cover! :)

Here's another I have:

Well that, of course, is a great price. But 12 is pretty good considering what it normally costs. Does JPC often put things back on sale? I did see, for example that the 5 disc Hilary Hahn disc was on sale last year, went back to its regular price, and is now back to 17 Euros. Maybe the same will happen here?

Yes Neal that happens very often with CPO, always good to keep a watch on this.

$18 off the market place (I know, I know, some of you got it for $12 a few months ago, but I wasn't smart enough to grab it then):

I think it is an excellent set that provides representative works for early music for that part of Europe.
