Most of it is for under a dollar.
But you're charging $4.00 per CD for shipping and handling. Most sellers only charge $2.00-$3.00. I buy a ton of CD's on e-bay, but I rarely bid on CD's that have a shipping charge greater than the $3.00 that more than covers postage and packaging costs. I know it seems silly, but I would more likely pay $10.00 plus $2.00 shipping for a CD than $8.00 plus $4.00 shipping for the same CD.

All possible fees and shipping expenses are covered with $3. Charging $4 is trying to make a buck, that's for sure. If the shipping was international, I would understand, but it's domestic. I've seen alot worse for inflated s&h on ebay though. I think that alot of sellers are hoping that the buyer bids before checking out the s&h.

Yes, sorry, but it's silly. As a seller I've done the same, and have explained the same to anyone who complained. I usually don't do it anymore, however, but that's mostly down to indifference.

I send everthing priority, with a small cushioned package 1 cd shipped domestically comes out to EXACTLY 4.05. So i'm really not overcharging. I use a small p/o box center to ship since I don't have 40 min to wait in line at my post office. Perhaps thats why its more expensive. Either way even if I didn't sent it priority all those cds are so cheap who cares about an extra $, why bitch if your not gonna buy it. Yuck I hate it. I've listened to it it seems almost karajan-esque I don't feel the drama of Solti's or Bohm's. I don't like the sound, especially the fugue in the last movement, it lacks power. It just doesn't suit me.

Actually for 1 CD you can ship it for $1.35 anywhere in the US via first class mail which gets there in 2-3 days anyway. 2CDs it would be $2.70 and 3 CDs it is $4.05. Anything more than 3 CDs it gets bumped up to Priority Mail automatically and it would be more than $4.05. You ship a single CD Priority Mail and the only party making money is the USPS.

I find it really hard to believe that anyone would be foolish enough to ship a single cd by priority mail. Especially can't believe that one of the PO clerks wouldn't say "hey you do know that you can send this first class, it will be a fraction of the price and it will be just as fast?"

Actually, there are two that I'm still interested in (and if Gurn goes by "Doc" on ebay, there might be a bidding war.) I'm not trying to give you a hard time. I just think you'll do better selling your CD's with higher starting prices and lower shipping charges. Also, especially since you're not including photos of the discs, a little more info about the recordings would be helpful. Some of the descriptions don't include the artist or the record label. Good luck with the sale. I'll keep an eye on my favorites.

Yup that's him.
Tony, I disagree, I think that you do make more money with lower starting bids and higher shipping. Many people do not look that hard at the shipping, though they should. But they look hard at the bid. Alot of people fall into the trap of thinking something is cheap just because the opening bid is low. The competitive bidding drives up the price better with a lower starting bid than with a higher one because the low starting bid attracts more attention in the first place.
I make on average more money off of penny bids than ones that start at a few bucks.

Totally agree. That's how my wife has played the game for years - low starting price, and completely honest shipping.

Yeah I do only penny auctions now. Sometimes I end up having an auction go for much less than I wanted, but on average I do better than I did with my previous system.
