Hello,
I'm trying to get the piece of music from the DVD of "Visions of Italy" the northern style.
Here's a clip,

http://www.hienphan.com/visionofitaly.mp3

I would appreciated it.
Love this music and will try to use it for some personal DVD.

Hi Craw, welcome.
I think that it is music composed especially for the documentary. It does resemble a classical piece though - the slow movement of a pianoconcerto.
If I'm mistaken, someone else will possibly recognise it.....

It was from a PBS station, tried to email them and everything but no go.
Web info says music from Beethoven, Wagner.

If it's a piano concerto, it's not Wagner.

Which may be just as well, since Wagner's already taken for personal DVD:

It is affirmatively neither Beethoven, nor Wagner, but Cheese, pure and simple.

Sounds like repertoire played by Richard Clayderman.

craw, It will be very difficult to exactly identify the piece. But give following composers - French film- a try : Gabriel Yared and Michel Legrand . They both write music that you may like. ( I'm sure you can listen to fragments at CD Universe or Amazon etc)

I find French composer Jean Francaix ' pianoconcertino quite lovely . it is very short - only a few minutes- but has charm & poetry. try the slow movement.

British composer Gerald Finzi wrote a beautiful "Eclogue" for piano & strings that you may find very attractive. ( see Naxos)

would it be easier if I copied the entire piece???
It's just that the narrator is also in it and may wash out the music piece.
