In Nigel's much lamented absence, here is a (non) opera picture.

Can anyone name all the singers?

Thank you, Lobby, for stepping into the gaping hole left by the lamented departure of Nigel!

The only one I am sure about is René Pape in the cake-cutting picture. You'll help with all the others? Huh

The surprise and astonished expression on Westbroek's face during the curtain calls is clearly visible on DVD also and the ruckus by the enthusiastic audience danged near made my monitor wobble. Grin

Also in the cake cutting picture is Netrebko,  right?

Pape and Netrebko are both correct, just two more to get in the Mozart cake picture.

Anyone guess the halloween couple?

Seeing those photos makes me appreciate my allergy to anything Puccini; I'll never be exposed to this kind of production!  Cool

But I do thank you, Siedler for the warning!  Kiss

The La Traviata I can handle, but pray tell, what's a Kartoffelacker - potatoe patch - doing next to her deathbed? Who is the director, Pierre Audi?  Huh

Since it was our Dear Nigel who started this thread I thought it only fair he should identify at least the easy ones, like the Köln Turandot. I hope you don't mind, Siedler, I sent him those two and he is still puzzling over them. Three tries, and no result!  Grin

I hope he and the mod team reach a consensus on this matter. Undecided
