Hey Mr. (or Ms.) eclassical?  Smiley

How can we buy complete CD's or even box sets like the Brautigam Mozart/Haydn Sonatas?

Hello!

It's Mr, I'm Rikard ;-)

We sell three types of products (all of which are MP3 files for downloading):

Single track for about US$0.49 - US$0.79
Entire Work (say all four tracks of a symphony for instance) at US$0.99
But the best buy would be one of our compilations. They are 2-3 hrs for US$5.99.

Each single track has a more info page, from which you can choose
(like I described above) "view all tracks from the same CD" and on
the CD page, you can add all tracks if you like to your shopping cart.

On the more info page, you will also see if a single track is part
of an entire work and/or a compilation (which will be cheaper
than buying all tracks from the CD individually).

Each week we create a new compilation and offer it through our newsletter
(also link on our first page).

If there is no entire work bundle available, you'd have to buy
all movements of a work individually.

Hope this helps explaining!

Thanks, It does help!!

Any reason why you limit the buying options? Like for some of the Brautigam stuff, its only available by separate track.  Undecided

Many listeners here prefer to buy whole CD's and even whole sets, but would like to do so and get some savings.

I know :]

We're working on it!

Thing is that we don't have cd titles in our database, only our internal
id for a CD, so it is difficult for us to present it.

The quick fix is (we're on it!) to lower the price of some tracks
so that the total isn't enormous for CDs with many tracks.

You can then use the Add all tracks - thing on the record page.

On the download page, you have the option to download everything
you bought as a zipfile (if the total size isn't too large).

Our system is from 1999, so we are constantly trying to
improve it
but that involves also improving our database, and there are many many
thousand entries there Wink

Update!

The average price of "all tracks of one CD" is US$7.67 so it's not a big problem.
But that's now since we've lowered the price of many tracks, based on feedback
that some CDs with very many tracks get expensive.

We try to keep the total less than $10 if there are no bundles from the CD
such as entire works or compilations.

Note that by "one CD" we here mean one disk (if it's a set it's more expensive
but we try to take this in regard when pricing).

You should try for $6, because otherwise, its starting to be the same price as a CD, and I would rather have a CD.  Whenever I substitute your tracks for a CD, I am giving up bits of information that are irrecoverable.

Rikard

as you said it seems your site's offering is bit thin on Bruckner and Mahler but what I find strange is that you are offering Hanssler and they have one of the best recent Mahler (and Bruckner 3-9) cycles in their catalogue, I'm speaking of Michael Gielen with SWR Sinfonieorchester Baden-Baden und Freiburg. They made quite a few recordings for Hanssler. Also, Hanssler has Schuricht's 'historical' Bruckner with Stuttgart Radio Orchestra.
What about these?

Hi,

I'm glad to announce that we now can offer all the SWR recordings too, since the disagreement has been settled!

That means all our old SWR files (191 files) are again available and we can start adding
new SWR material to our catalog! This means more Mahler and Bruckner, for instance!

The Sanderling Bruckner 7 and Gielen 8 are there, as well as the Gielen Mahler 4 and 6 folks!

Note also the presence as a single 0.99$ file of the unsung Gunther Neubold 4th, one of the most idiomatic versions among the 3-or so dozens I've heard.
