I might as well recommend the StumbleUpon add-on for Firefox. It's the best for finding random 'interesting' websites.  :)

And remember to give GMG a good rating! $:)

Link-following on Wikipedia is annoyingly addictive. "Where does this go..." - it goes to random interesting stuff like these:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Brown_Dog_affair

http://en.wikisource.org/wiki/Low-Life_Deeps

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cordoba_Fighting_Dog (the first paragraph of the "History" section - surely it was nothing if not successful, despite that rather unfortunate side-effect...)

There was a game people used to play in another forum I visit. A person provides the starting and ending articles in Wikipedia, she having already worked her way through from one to the other. The object of the players is to find that or another path between the two articles. I never played it - I waste enough time getting lost in a dictionary!  ::)

Anyway, here's the link I came here to post: Top 20 Top-10 Lists of 2008. (Mostly tech-oriented.)

There is a more generic game with WP: click "Random Page", then see how many internal link clicks it takes to reach the page of  Adolf Hitler (the average number on one forum I found seemed to hover between 3 and 8 ).

Let's see...

*Clicks Random Article* Love Field (Disambiguation page) -> Love Field (film) -> Washington, D.C. -> Walter Reed Army Medical Center -> Normandy -> Nazi Germany -> Adolf Hitler

So you have to search for internal links that look like they will eventually lead to Hitler?

Diletante

I did two:

Rodney Pocceschi -> Police officer -> Germany -> Adolf Hitler  (3)

Savamala -> Serbia -> Adolf Hitler  (2)  :P

Yeah, follow through links in the text of the article you get. This is the link to get a random article.

Sadly most links involve going to the "United States" page.

Iván Ríos > Guerrilla warfare > World War II > Adolf Hitler

though I feel cheated because Hitler was mentioned on the Guerrilla warfare page without a link.

Aw, you have to pick and choose the links, that's no fun.

When reading through it, I could perfectly understand how lives would be at stake; mine for one.
