Is Thanksgiving a Christian holiday? Who knew?

Enjoying family, friends, good food, a little Virgil Thomson, and a lot of Copeland.

the phone rings and somebody says,
"hey, they made a movie about
Mahler, you ought to go see it.
he was as f*cked-up as you are."

I'd like to see a picture of that.  :D

Here you go  ;D

For the wine lovers: we drank a 2005 Burgundy, appellation Mercurey,  Château Philippe-Le-Hardi.

That scares me.

Just a little.

Not really sure if I want to know more.

Ya talking to me?  ;)  What scares you: the Burgundy or Barbie?

Also, I think I'd rather see that on Sarge's dinner table than the Barbie.  The Barbie is making me ask too many questions, I can't handle the truth.

;D :D ;D

The truth: Mrs. Rock grew up in a fairly wealthy family (her father owned a small electronics manufacturing firm; Mrs. Rock was part owner). But her parents grew up during the war years and had a rough, and very deprived life for many years. Like survivors of the American Depression, they were quite frugal despite their eventual wealth and they did not indulge their children. As a child Mrs.Rock wanted Barbies like most girls but her parents only gave her the cheap German imitations. When she told me this story after we married, I bought her a real Barbie. She loved it and it became a tradition to buy her the special editions. The collection is quite large today and worth a small fortune.

As for me, well, the first woman I ever undressed was one of my sister's Barbies. Probably scarred me for life  ;D

You did not convert to Ken though :) There are 3 Kens of Mrs. Wurst sitting in the bookshelf right behind me. They look pretty metrosexual or gay. But they probably know I'm already married, they aren't threatening me at all.

Now that kid is scary...the ads and still pictures from that film put me off seeing it for years.
