HIP Mendelssohn

Yes, another blasted HIP thread!  ;D

I'm looking to expand my Mendelssohn collection and would like some recommendations for some good period-performance recordings of his works, namely his orchestral works for starters.  Any help would be greatly appreciated!  ;)

Once you get to the string quartets, harmonia mundi has an acclaimed HIP cycle. They're extremely accessible, lovable works, though I haven't heard those specific performances.

String quartet is one of my favourite genres, I'll keep an eye out; thanks Brian.

Aye, I did!  I thought Mendelssohn and Brahms deserved their own threads, though!  I also didn't see much on either Mendelssohn or Brahms there...  Alas, Que has spoken - so be it.  0:)  Thanks for the link.
