Allan - had not seen this obit yet!  :'(

The only Freddie Hubbard that I own is shown below - not a bad introduction (but these 'Best of....' usually are not) - hopefully, this thread might stimulate some more recommendations to explore - Dave  :)

Call it a side-door tribute, but Freddie's guest appearance in "Zanzibar" from Billy Joel's 52nd Street was a sign that young Mr Joel had arrived  8)

RIP, Freddie - I only have him as sideman, but he was a great contributor on some classic albums (Blues and the Abstract Truth; Out to Lunch; Interplay...)

Right ho, he's on Out to Lunch with Dolphy, a stand-out album.
