What happened to global warming?

Are you familiar with the term "global dimming"? You can find more on that here:

http://www.pbs.org/wgbh/nova/sun/dimming.html

And see whether it scares the daylights out of you. There is also an hour long episode on youtube.

Close to midnight, here. The applet on my computer tells me that it is 25 C (near the airport, which is about a half-an-hour drive away). Brrr... :P

-15(F) forcasted for tonight! Reminds me of a funny story from when I moved over here from the UK 10 years ago. At the local elementary school they told us (in the Summer) that the kids always spent their break times outdoors unless the temperature was below zero. We thought "what pussies, the kids often played outside below zero in England - just need a coat". First Winter we were there we got more than 20 inches of snow overnight and the temperature stayed below zero (C) for about 6 weeks. Never been so cold in my life - until we spent a weekend in Ottawa for the WinterFest a few years ago - now that really was brutal!

With windchill factor, it will feel like it is -49F (or -49C) in Winterpeg.  Ouch!   :o

66 degrees here in California today. The weather has warmed up a bit and should that way, hopefully. (50 degrees is much too cold for me!)

It's Damn cold today in Winnipeg!   :o

You win. Here in Montreal it's only minus 25 and my car started on the first try this morning, so I had no excuse not to show up at work  :P.

-14F this morning (-25.5C) just west of Chicago. A little chilly. Unfortunately it may be worse tonight. Coldest temperature in well over 10 years.

. . . and my car started on the first try this morning . . . .

That was well, at any rate, mon ami!
