Wanted -- Joyce Hatto's Schubert and her Chopin Etudes.

You mean real Hatto recordings, or the not-Hatto ones?

I mean the not-Hatto recordings.

Why would anyone be interested in the real  Hatto ones?

There are much better recordings of the Etudes than the one that Hatto supposedly made. However, if you really want them then get this

as it's probably where Barrington-Coupe plagiarised them from.

I have no idea: that's why I thought I'd clarify the question. :D

I really wanted to check the Etudes because I liked "her" Preludes and Waltzes very much.

And I was curious about the Schubert because I know it got rave reviews from Bryce Morrison.

I own "her" Vingt Regards too , and I like them.

What are you actually looking for? Fake Concert Artists discs with alleged Hatto playing or the discs featuring original pianists? If latter, not everything has been identified yet, here what is known about Chopin Etudes and Schubert, not much on Schubert yet.

If you want fake Concert Artists discs they used to be sold occasionally on e-bay, but I think no longer. Private owners are your only choice now, I believe. Try posting request over on rmcr, maybe somebody would sell their copies.

Hey Drasko

Thanks for those thoughts.

It's the fake CDs that I want -- even if you can identify the pianist, Barrington-Coupe  seems to have sometimes processed the sound.

I like the idea of owning the fakes too -- they'll be worth a fortune one day. (After I'm dead, no doubt)

Does anyone know what has happened to Barrington-Coupe?  Is he in prison?
