Yes, the purpose of this thread is to discuss the great pianists of the 20th and 21st century. By great I mean great in your opinion. Hopefully people will begin to explain and discuss their choices.

The website thing was a small part of what this thread could be so if someone has no website/discography/wiki article, then they can of course be mentioned, along with whatever info you have on the pianist.

I am already beginning to see that this thread could just turn into a long list of pianists with links to their webpages.I had hoped we would have a discussion about each of these pianists, listing your favorite recordings, describing why you think they belong on the list, discussing how piano playing has changed over time, etc.....
