Hello!

I would like to ask you kindly for a favour. Please go to my website and check if you know of any recording of a violin concerto missing in my collection and if you find something missing, please let me know of the piece, the recording and where to get it!
Here is my site:

Finally: I am *not* interested in different performances, so please don't tell me that I am missing this Martzy recording or that Rabin performance. I know that  ;). I am just interested in recordings of works I don't know so far.

Thank you so much for your help!

Thanks!

I noticed that recording, but did not buy it so far. But thanks anyway for mentioning it!

You seem to have them all!

Frank Peter Zimmermann's recording of the Ligeti violin concerto with Reinbert de Leeuw conducting the ASKO/Schoenberg Ensemble makes part of the 3rd volume of the Ligeti Project on Teldec.

I'm still waiting for Christian Tetzlaff to record this concerto: his live performance with the LSO and Boulez at the 2000 Edinburgh Festival is the best I've ever heard of the piece.

Jan Kubelik: Concerto for violin and orchestra Nº 4.

Kancheli: Broken Chant, concerto for oboe and violin. Comissioned by the BBC, the premiere was given one year ago.

You don't have MY violin concerto. Philistine.   ;D

But seriously, thanks. That's quite a resource.

I just got Robin de Raaff's violin concerto, premiered two months ago by Tasmin Little.

That one interests me! Is that a commercial recording? Is there a chance we can trade it?

The Kancheli and the de Raaff are out of my collection borders, because I decided to collect just works composed between 1894 and 2006 and it looks like both works don't meet that criteria. Thanks anyway for mentioning them!

That's an awfully big...........list...you've got there.

Seriously, I think I've heard like 5 of them. Piano concertos on the other hand...
Be kind to your fellow posters!!

What I wish you would do on your website is list the recordings not just alphebetically but also by country of origin and perhaps date of composition.  It would be useful to reference, for example, all the works by English composers in your collection (or Finnish or Swiss), or all the works composed in 1945 (or any other given year).

I have all data in an Excel list at home and if you are interested in such a special list (for example Violin concertos by English composers between 1950 and 1960), just drop me a line. Its done in seconds.
