Me, too. And I'm looking forward to shaving again after they win it all.  ;D

Do you have a rally beard?

DavidRoss

Yep. ;D  In addition to my usual van Dyke. So it just looks as if I'm letting the cheeks fill in. But it itches and looks less professional.

I find myself not caring who wins the WS this year, neither team is one I care much about.  That said, if the Tigers win I can at least say that the team that eliminated the Yankees won it all.

I always consider the team that eliminates the Yankees as one of my favorites.

Yeh, you are not unique in that regard.

:)

I really like both these teams. Not as much as my Nationals, but still.

It's also cool that the Giants and Tigers, two of the "original" teams, have never met in the World Series before. There are a few combinations left - for instance, the Tigers have never played the Dodgers in the Fall Classic either, in Los Angeles or Brooklyn.

The Six

So, that happened. 3 home runs for the Panda, and Barry Zito gets an RBI hit off Verlander. Surreal.

Looks as if it will all be over tonight.  Three shutouts in a row?

I know SF fans are happy, but its not much fun too watch, Tigers, and their triple crown winner, are slumping bad. Giants pitching is fun too watch however. Seeing them get out of a based loaded situation with only one out was impressive.

I am not much on Leyland, so the Giants have my vote....but I was hoping for a 7 game series.

You can always watch the Tokyo Giants in the Japan Series.

Time to start wearing my Yomiuri Giants hat!

That's the one hat that has eluded me. I could easily get it off eBay, but I want the real high-quality stuff, and the official NPB site doesn't deliver to the US.

It's just as well; I'll be emptying my wallet on Giants World Series stuff for quite a while.

DavidRoss

Mine was a gift from my Japanese cousin. It's one of the few treasured specialty caps I haven't left in some restaurant and lost. Bring back hat racks, please! Not all American males are boors who wear hats indoors ... not yet, anyway.

(I recall visiting some old family friends in Fort Worth a few years back and when I failed to remove my cap immediately after entering their home I was reminded, with love and none too gently, to "Take that hat off -- we know you weren't raised in a barn!")

And ... Greg: watching real baseball players (the National League) defeat gimmicked-up faux baseball players (the American League) is always a pleasure! ;)

I read something this year from Lance Berkman talking about how pissed he was that his hometown team (Astros) were switching to AL, he wanted to retire in Houston and watch an NL team.

The Tokyo Giants won the Japan series yesterday over the Ham Fighters. The last time they won was 2009, and this time they did it with former SF Giant John Bowker playing first base. Also, it's come to my attention that the football team in New York that calls themselves the Giants won the Super Bowl.
