That's an impressive musical life span, for sure. Only retired from the stage in 1994, yet taught further on, and recorded even in 2007, it seems.

A great baritone, I was fortunate enough to see him at the Metropolitan in the 1970's. I wish that Saint-Saens' masterpiece, Henry VIII was revived for him- he would have been perfect for that demanding and grand role! thanks.
