Quote from: Ganondorf on December 19, 2024, 08:06:17 AMTwo of my mom's cats used to sometimes snuggle and we also took a picture although the picture is not available to me anymore.
I only caught my (at that time) two girls curled up together on top of my cat tree--one time.  Once I saw the older cat trying to groom the head of the young one; alas, she wouldn't have any of it.  :(  Nighttime we would all curl up together; our little pack.  :)

Sorry @Ganondorf regarding the picture.  What happened to it?

I'm not quite sure. It may have got lost after we were getting my mom's things together after her death.

Unless the "Collective you" [Meaning siblings/relatives, etc.] tossed a lot of stuff (without checking--and I am not ascribing blame), it hopefully will turn up...or maybe the negatives?  Fingers crossed for you.  And, sorry, I should have said this first, I'm sorry for the loss of your mother.  It's hard...no matter what your age.

Thank you for the kind words and no need to apologize. 🙂 I of course miss my mom and cats greatly... But the great memories about my mom and cats last forever!

I ran across these two stories today (both of which I found to be very touching).  In the holiday spirit, I'm sharing them with you.

First one:  "Missing cat reunited with family after seven years" Very recent story.  https://www.bbc.com/news/articles/c8xjdzpegeqo

An older one:  "Family's lost cat found after five years"  Loved how the cat comforted the elderly man (though I'm sure that it was very painful for his original family).  https://www.bbc.com/news/articles/c725w3605k3o

Love the cat in the baby chair (not certain what you call it).  🤣  Sweet story.  :)

I've seen cats chattering like that--when watching birds.  It's certainly a unique noise/part of their vocabulary.

Oh, you're too funny!  And me thinks little kitten was just trying to crawl underneath to a safe place and/or thinking that it might find a source of food:  instinct.

Since my mother's passing, my household has adopted Florence, a 4-year-old calico she got from the humane society to keep her company during cancer treatments. It was en easy decision on our part, since she is the friendliest cat I have ever met. She likes everybody, is not aggressive, yet isn't afraid either.

It took us a while, though, as we needed to separate our Green-Cheeked Conure from the cat for now. Perhaps we will try to introduce them this summer and see if they can get along.

Looks like Florence has settled in quite nicely!  And kudos to you for adopting her.  I haven't had any experience with birds; I would ask your vet(s) about introductions there.  I wouldn't think that it would take 'til summer to do the intros.  Does your bird often fly around the house and/or is outside of its enclosure often?  I (off the top of my head) only know one person who has had bird companions (for a number of years); she didn't have other types of pets though.  I have seen some wonderful stories on the Dodo about birds and cats becoming close friends.  Am wishing the best for all involved.

She seems a picture of contentment and good will. I hope everything works out.  8)
