Quote from: absolutelybaching on December 04, 2022, 05:18:57 AMI can't really tell, but to me it looks like Teddy Roosevelt. But since Twain is on record as having called Teddy the worst president America had ever had (clearly, he was around before 2016!), I don't imagine he actually socialised with him to that extent!!

Lovely quote here: ""Mr. Roosevelt is the most formidable disaster that has befallen the country since the Civil War – but the vast mass of the nation loves him, is frantically fond of him, even idolizes him. This is the simple truth. It sounds like a libel upon the intelligence of the human race, but it isn't; there isn't any way to libel the intelligence of the human race."

Plus ça change, indeed.

So I have no idea, basically.
I tried doing a google image search.  It found the photo, but when I clicked on the site link, no further info there.  He does look to be well off (clothing-wise, hat and highly polished shoes).  Perhaps a fellow writer?  At least another cat lover in any event!  ;D

Another good quote from Twain:  "If man could be crossed with a cat, it would improve man, but deteriorate the cat."

Two from what I could see (checking online).  "Dave" and "Paul".  Perhaps they are permanent "guests" of the hotel, restaurant, or somebody nearby?  Nice of the players though to share their food with them.

Dave's "coming home".  :D

Not quite certain exactly who is going to be the legal owner nor where he will be staying, but he is now in England (getting checked out by a vet, vaccinated and in quarantine for 4 months).  https://www.bbc.com/news/newsbeat-63943662

I hope that Dave likes his new digs and human(s).  And what do you think the chances are that he'll be a fussy eater--after having become used to restaurant food?

p.s.  And (if he hasn't been already) that they do the right thing and have him neutered.

Sigrid and Travis even have their own book out now (to be published soon):  https://www.waterstones.com/book/sigrid-rides/travis-nelson/9781804191149

I see that there are some other famous cats around Britain too (with their own books).  :)

No cat would have ever done this:

Any normal cat would have thought, " FINE, I'll just lay down somewhere else. "  ;D

Auuuuuugggghhhhh!

I'm lucky (and grateful) as my cats never tried that on my speakers.

Did any of yours over the years attempt anything like that (I realize that you haven't had any cats for some time as your other half is allergic to them)?  I did also provide a good-sized cat tree and a post for them to use.

Happened once, I have forgotten culprit. Cat repellent spray did the trick.

;D Glad that you found something that worked.  As I recall, I tried some sort of cat repellant spray on other things--didn't seem to help though.  ::)

*Best to remember the good times in the end...or at least, hopefully be able to laugh or smile at the rough times.
