The former tram routes 13 in The Hague and 14 in Copenhagen had the same 'koersbord' https://nl.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lijnkleurgebruik_bij_trambedrijven

Is the sound quality Ok?

Having listened to it this afternoon, I can say confidently that it is a fabulous new release and everyone should buy one without hesitating.

Good transfer IMO - of the Debussy preludes - dynamic range and tone. Lots of noise of course. But this is the one to go to I think, this is the transfer to use.

Will these recordings be on the upcoming Warner box? As I understand Columbia Graphophone Company is now owned by Warner, whereas Columbia US is owned by Sony.

I believe Todd posted the complete contents of the Warner box. It might be far enough back that going through Todd's history (or looking up the Amazon.de listing) would be the fastest solution.

I obviously missed something.
What happened with Petrenko?
And what's Maestro Hindoyan's background? (Spanish or Latin American or Filipino, going by the first name)

Petrenko is now leading the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra, an organization I honestly have not thought about seriously since the Previn era. Maybe he can rejuvenate their reputation. He left Liverpool in 2021 and Oslo in 2020. He also accepted a position leading an orchestra in Russia, but quit it when the war broke out and said he would not work in Russia during the conflict. He is a UK citizen.

Thanks. I probably saw heard all that when it happened but forgot it all.

I typically would not buy this, but I probably will to hear more Hengelbrock.  At the very least, it will be streamed.

There is clearly a Franck organ revival - Petur Sakari's BIS recital last year with the same program as that DG album, and an upcoming CPO complete organ work edition (4CD) featuring Carsten Wiebusch.

-

Noticed on Amazon DE: Naxos will release a 7 CD box set of its Hugo Alfven orchestral series.

I still enjoy my needledrop of this fine old LP - don't know if it ever made it to digital (apart from on my hard drive) - well at least some of it is on YouTube.
Sensational sound that Notre Dame organ made!

Note, Songs of the Oak and The Oak are two different pieces (which, confusingly, she composed back to back in the same year).

Either there is an error in the Amazon DE entry or there is a new wrinkle in the series; I just noticed that Naxos' Alfven recordings only cover 6 CDs, not 7.

Amazon shows this for MP3 and streaming, but describes it as "Sweden Only". Maybe that's CD7?

Checked that - it contains repackaged short couplings from the symphony discs.

The Kobayashi Chopin is rather nice, worth checking. I’d love to hear the Uchida and indeed the Pollini on Spectrum Sound label - it was at a time that I was going to lots of modern piano mainstream repertoire concerts and I heard both. But expensive to import from Japan.

Soloist and conductor work well together.  Hopefully a full cycle will result.

Agreed, a really nice 491.
