Also out in January - not found contents though.

If you click through that Amazon link, it lists all the tracks. Not composers, but you can guess. Looks like arrangements, transcriptions, and encores.

More JANUARY goodies:

IMPORTANT REISSUE:

This is the Astrée cycle that has long been out of print.

OK, well it looks like I can get out of January pretty cheap, and still come away happy!   :D

Certainly important. Is there any information regarding remastering?

No, there is not. I skimmed the 168-page booklet (!) and the credits make no mention of remastering.

Excellent -- I've been wanting that one for many a moon.....
The man that hath no music in himself,
Nor is not moved with concord of sweet sounds,
Is fit for treasons, stratagems, and spoils.
The motions of his spirit are dull as night,
And his affections dark as Erebus.
Let no such man be trusted.

-- William Shakespeare, The Merchant of Venice

I'm going to go out on a limb and say it will sound at least as good as the 80s Astree CDs, possibly better if Arcana's other reissues are anything to go by. I have never heard the XRCDs.

I admit, I like the cover shot.  Darned marketing folks.

Speaking of marketing, Beethoven's unfamous contemporaries look like they'll get some love.

It's back.

The universe is change; life is opinion. - Marcus Aurelius, Meditations

People would rather believe than know - E.O. Wilson

Propaganda death ensemble - Tom Araya

Just the intermezzi—thereby breaking up every opus number except 117. Presumably another volume of "Ballades, Rhapsodies, Capriccios and Romance" follows.

Ordered (rather cheaply I'm pleased to say)

Care to say from where if it's still available? :)

Not heard any of it. Presumably just one of the M. Cuiusvis Toni sequence (I hope!)

Listening to it now and it sounds rather jolly.

Some rather in-ya-face emotionally demonstrative (hence Italianate) Marais, I'm not sure that The Sun King would have approved.

This sounds very good indeed to me, Ruckers harpsichord copy, and Italian clavichord,  scholar keyboard player, well recorded, nice music.
