Pauline Oliveros. Don't know what it is, but I know it's good.

Dietmar Berger. a rather interesting viol player,  transposes these extraordinary suites, which I think are too good to be really Telemann, to cello, for better or for worse.  Go figure.

The first five minutes sound really stimulating.  in 1019, the contrast between the low viola and the high keyboard is great fun in the first movement.

That Scenes from the Kalevala BIS disc will be one to look forward to! Even though all the repertoire on it has already been served in fine recordings.

Part of the tragedy of the Palestinians is that they have essentially no international support for a good reason: they've no wealth, they've no power, so they've no rights.

Spotted this on the Chandos website. Looks very intriguing to say the least:

(Klebanov, 1907-1987, was a Ukrainian composer.)
I agree - just ordered it. I like the look of 'Scenes from Kalevala' on BIS but can't see where it is available in the UK.

When's more important - November. However Presto does have it listed for preorder. Go to future releases, sort by date, and it's one of the very first things.

Hmmm..

Hmmm good or hmmm bad? Did you think hmmm when you heard 1015?

Basically I think this is a 1015 which everyone needs to hear, if only to say no. I say hmmm, yes!

Works from the codices of Faenza, Robertsbridge, Buxheim, Las Huelgas, Florence, and Perugia. Little organ and all sorts of other tasty exotic keyboards.  Sound very good to me.

If the programming is that wide, it comes down to the performance (and instrument).

Totally irrelevant, but I love the cover. :)

Walton 1 for 2 pianos?? I'm skeptical! :-\
Here's a sampler - not sure I'll be rushing out to buy it. I think that Crown Imperial works best in these arrangements:

What a cheek. They stick "sonatas for harpsichord" on the front, and then they use a bloody modern pianer. Are they taking the piss? Outrageous, they should be sued for misleading advertising.
